General Hospital’s Production Gets Delayed Due To Surge in Covid-19 Cases
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that the production of the daytime drama is getting delayed because of the surge in Covid-19 cases.
On January 5, the soap announced that it won’t start the production of new shows until next week. However, the situation may change depending on the severity of the outbreaks. The show decided to take preventive measures against the omicron variant, which has been discovered to be very contagious.
New Episodes To Air As Scheduled
As per Deadline, General Hospital will continue to air new shows as expected and there are no anticipated delays. The show’s production also made it clear that the delay was made “out of an abundance of caution.” They wanted everyone to know that there are no outbreaks of the disease on the GH set.
So far, only General Hospital has decided and announced a delay in production. Other daytime shows such as Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful are following their normal production schedule.
Other ABC Shows Delay Production
Aside from General Hospital, there are other ABC shows that have delayed their production. These include The Rookie, Station 19, and Grey’s Anatomy. The executives of these shows made it clear that the delay won’t affect the airing of new episodes.
Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy are scheduled to resume production on January 12 instead of January 10. As for The Rookie, there’s still no news as to when their production will continue.

General Hospital Spoilers For The Week of January 10
Spoilers hint that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will demand answers. It may have something to do with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) New Year’s Eve. But it may also be about Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) death once Carly comes across Bobby Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman).
Sonny will focus his attention on Laura Collins (Genie Francis). He’ll give her the support she needs now that Luke is gone. He’ll make a surprising gesture when he tries to reconnect with someone. Fans will just have to wait and see if it’ll be Laura or Nina.
Nina Gets A Surprising Visitor
As for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), she’ll be in for a surprise when someone visits her at Crimson. It’s going to be an unexpected guest and it seems Nina won’t be happy to see that person.
