General Hospital Spoilers: Elizabeth Subconsciously Sabotaging Her Own Future!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that on New Year’s Eve, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) finally took off her wedding ring and put it away. This was a symbolic gesture that meant she was ready to move on and possibly find happiness with Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). But she may not be as ready as she believes. Although she has agreed to a date with Finn, other things seem to be happening.

Although Elizabeth put her wedding ring away on New Year’s Eve, it somehow managed to find its way to her locker at General Hospital. Elizabeth herself seems perplexed because she was excited to go on a date with Finn. She even bought a new dress to commemorate the occasion. So she seemed as surprised as anyone when her wedding ring showed up in her locker. But her late husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was everything to her. His murder cut short her time with him. That’s the reason she hates Peter August (Wes Ramsey), the man who murdered Franco.

GH Spoilers – It hasn’t even been a year since Franco Baldwin’s murder!

To say that Franco was a saint would be a lie. He was a former serial killer although his murderous behavior was later attributed to brain tumor. His romance with Elizabeth came as a surprise to everyone, including Elizabeth herself. But the heart wants what it wants and it wasn’t long before the couple became serious and eventually married. They had a great life together, and Franco was an amazing step-father to Elizabeth’s three sons. They all have grieved Franco together.

General Hospital Spoilers – Could Elizabeth Webber’s subconscious be trying to tell her something?

While Elizabeth has said she is ready to move on, that may not be completely true. Up until New Year’s, Elizabeth expressed doubt to both Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) and Dr. Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr). She told them that she didn’t know if she was ready to move on since Franco meant so much to her and her family.

Is seems quite likely that Elizabeth subconsciously brought the ring with her to the hospital. Part of her may not be ready to move on, and she may not even realize it! It is also a possibility that one of Elizabeth’s boys don’t want her to forget Franco and moved the ring themselves. Either way, there is clearly more healing that needs to happen.
