Obrecht’s Feud With Anna Goes Back Many, Many Years
Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Obrecht’s feud with Anna goes back many, many years. It may go back even as far as to when Peter was conceived! Liesl Obrecht had an obsession with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), Peter’s father for many years. But all Faison wanted was Anna, in spite of Liesl finally getting him in bed at least twice, when her children Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) were conceived. Faison was Anna’s boss in the years that she was an agent with the DVX.
Liesl doesn’t know that Anna’s twin, Alexandra Devane Marick (Finola Hughes) pretended to be her sister, and even was hypnotized to believe so years ago. Part of that may have been memory transfer, but prior to that when Anna was missing and presumed dead, Alex had also been hypnotized to impersonate Anna and also to hunt her down and assassinate her! Neither knew of the other at the time, because they had been separated at birth.
Therefore, during the time when Faison’s obsession began, it could have been either one of them but if it began with Peter’s conception then it was Alex impersonating Anna. If Liesl knew Faison at that time – and she could have, having roots in various medical clinics that the DVX and Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) was involved with – it is quite possible that Liesl’s obsession with Faison goes back that far. It would be natural, knowing now that Peter is thought to be Anna’s son, that she would hate both of them.
Obrecht Has Found Out That Peter Framed Her For His Crimes And Anna Covered It Up
General Hospital viewers will recall that Peter also killed Liesl’s only son Nathan, and for that she hated him as well. She even kidnapped, starved and tortured him and nearly set him on fire along with her niece, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in the Cassadine stables! That is some pretty intense hatred!
She has found that Peter is behind her imprisonment in The Hague and that he framed her. Thanks to the help of the late Dr. Warren Kirk (Christopher Cousins, Jamison Jones) she was released and hired by the WSB brainwashing treatment facility that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) had been treated in.
It was at her behest that she got Dr. Kirk to release Dante, but not until he had programmed him to kill Anna and Peter! Obrecht has been forced to take on her good friend Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) treatment after his father, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) accidentally killed Kirk while defending her honor. She looked into Franco’s file and saw Kirk’s note that Franco has been hearing Peter’s voice in his head and it was likely leftover memories of Drew Cain (Billy Miller) that have been surfacing.
It is possible that the partial removal of the brain tumor by Dr. Lucas Jones (Matt Trudeau) combined with Franco’s traumatic head injury suffered in the explosion of The Floating Rib caused the memories to resurface. Chances are, as Liesl listens to Franco voicing Peter’s words in his head, she will hear things that will ramp up her hatred of Peter, and of Anna as well!
