General Hospital fans often ask what happened to Emma Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer), daughter of Patrick Drake (ex-Jason Thompson) and Robin Scorpio Drake (ex-Kimberly McCullough). Where is Emma and will she ever return to Port Charles?
Emma Moved To Berkley
General Hospital’s Emma moved to Berkley California with her parent when they got remarried on January 7, 2016. Thompson announced his departure in late 2015. With Thompson leaving to go to The Young and The Restless to play Billy Abbott, a quick departure had to be written. Patrick and Robin moved to Berkley when Robin wasn’t given her job back at GH with the specifications she asked for.
Although Patrick has not returned to Port Charles since their move, Robin has made a few pop-up visits when the occasion called for it. Emma came to visit her grandmother Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) when she was with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) some time ago. Emma was last seen on February 12, 2020. Fans had hoped that Emma would make a visit when Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) returned home a few months ago. Unfortunately, fans fear that Emma will be recast since all of the teens are being played by adults now and Brooklyn is only 15 years old.
Emma And Spencer Had A Bond
General Hospital’s Emma and Spencer have always had a bond. However, now that the teens are college-age and have adult storylines Emma may have to be recast to fit in. Spencer also has his girlfriend Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) who could become very dangerous to Emma and Anna is tied up in the Peter August (Wes Ramsey) manhunt presently. Emma would not have the supervision that her parents would want with both grandparents chasing after Peter. The only way that Emma could be written into the current teen situations would be to age her and her actress.
Emma Was A Surprise Child
General Hospital’s Emma was not a planned child. Robin had slept with bad boy Patrick and discovered she was pregnant when she went to have invitro. Robin wanted a child but didn’t anticipate it happening naturally. Robin and Patrick ended up together and Robin went into labor at their first wedding. Robin almost died after giving birth to Emma. Emma has been a cherished child of both parents even though Robin has disappeared from her life a few times under circumstances beyond her control. When reunited this last time, Robin promised never to leave Emma again.
Emma now has a younger brother named Noah Robert Drake who was born offscreen after their move to Berkley.
