ABC General Hospital spoilers tease that Attorney Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) shows up at GH in an upcoming episode, having been mugged! Did someone want Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) letter that was to be opened in the event of her death?
Martin Was Just At The Metro Court Talking First To Nikolas Cassadine, Then To Julian Jerome
Viewers will recall that Martin was just at the Metro Court talking to a couple of people. Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) had asked him some legal advice. He wanted to know what constituted infidelity when he received the photo of him kissing Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). He was very concerned that it may affect the postnup that he had set up with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West). Martin informed him that even an emotional affair could violate the postnup.
Then, when Nikolas left the table, shortly afterward, Julian Jerome (William DeVry) showed up! He wanted help in getting his hasty marriage to Nelle either annulled or end it through a divorce. While he and Martin were talking, Martin got a call, and when he answered it he found out Nelle had been found dead. He congratulated Julian on becoming a widower!
However, he didn’t mention the letter that Nelle had given him for safekeeping. It detailed how Julian helped her kidnap Wiley Corinthos (Erik and Theodore Olson). He had talked to Ava about helping him get the letter, as he knew that Martin had it. They’d even tried breaking into his office, but were interrupted when Martin came back with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)!
Martin Gray Shows Up At General Hospital Holding The Back Of His Head
Martin shows up at General Hospital. He appears in the preview clip to be talking to Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and he also has a bruise on his face! No briefcase is to be seen, and he tells her he’s been mugged! It looks like someone might have figured out that he had Nelle’s letter in his briefcase. The obvious suspect would have to be Julian, but there could be another person involved. Either Julian or Ava could have hired someone to mug Martin Gray and retrieve the briefcase.
It’s highly doubtful that Ava would have disguised herself and mugged Martin, a much bigger man than she is a woman! Julian could have disguised himself and mugged him. But as previously mentioned he might be too obvious a suspect. This would be especially true if Martin knows that Julian knows about the letter! It makes a lot more sense for Julian to hire someone else to get Martin’s briefcase.
There is a slight –very slight – possibility that Ava may have told Nikolas. They are trying not to get close emotionally, but having given in to their passions doesn’t help! Besides, even though they seem to be falling for one another, can they trust each other? Trust takes time to be built regardless of a five-year buildup of lust! Nikolas probably wouldn’t have had any problem mugging someone, but let’s cross him off our list! The most likely person to have mugged or paid someone to mug Martin Gray is Julian! He stands the most to lose if the information in the letter is revealed!
