Maxie’s first big mistake was deciding Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was her new best friend when she was pregnant with James and newly widowed. Just because a man is nice to you when your husband just died doesn’t mean he has to be your bestie. The next big mistake Maxie made was forgiving Peter when she learned he lied to her about who he was and was really Faison’s son and responsible for her beloved Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) death.

The big mistake GH made was writing another pregnancy for Maxie with a character the entirety of the soap’s fandom hates with the fire of a thousand suns. But the pregnancy wore on and Maxie nearly married Peter, but learned he was a vile and crazed villain just before saying ‘I Do.’

Then came what some might say is an even bigger mistake. She planned to fake her baby’s death to keep her from Peter without just using the fact that her father heads the WSB and could have hidden her anywhere. Nope. Maxie had to do this all on her own. Of course, her plans went awry and now everyone just thinks Bailey Louise has been kidnapped and is not the baby Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) claims she gave birth to.

But Maxie Had To Hide Her Baby, It Was The Only Way

Perhaps not even Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) or Anna Devane could have protected her from the great Peter August — the villain so clever that he ended up down a flight of stairs and in a freezer in the GH basement. While we can’t be sure he is still in the freezer as dead is never really dead on a soap, he did manage to poison Chase (Josh Swickard), so he must be more dangerous than anyone Maxie ever met. She did what she had to do for Louise and who could blame her? Peter August should never be allowed near babies or any young children.
