General Hospital’s Christmas may be on Saturday this year but that doesn’t change the fact that the show is pre-empted for the holiday. However, fans are only losing one day of new shows this week.
The Show Was Pre-empted For Thanksgiving
General Hospital was pre-empted for Thanksgiving this year as usual. Fans lost two days, one to a repeat and one to sports as they do every year. However, fans were left with a cliffhanger of Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) learning that he was not Bailey Quartermaine’s (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) father.
However, Valentin still doesn’t know the whole sorted truth about the child’s parentage. Of course, Valentin was furious with both Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) who is claiming to be the child’s father. Perhaps, if Valentin had been let in on this from the start, Chase would not be suspended from work for six months for punching him. Would Valentin have been the better person to help protect that baby from Peter August (Wes Ramsey)?
Christmas Will Be Pre-Empted As Well
General Hospital will be pre-empted on Christmas Eve as well. Despite the fact that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) claims to be a changed man, the show much wait. Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has revealed himself as the person threatening not only Laura Collins (Genie Francis) but Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) as well. Of course, that Cassadine’s and the Spencer’s have been at each other’s throats for years and Laura used to be a Spencer. However, Laura is also the mother of Victor’s nephew, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). Martin is also Cyrus’s former attorney and could somehow know too much about Victor for his own good. The Friday, December 24 show will be a repeat of the February 23.2021 episode.
New Episodes Begin December 27
General Hospital will begin airing new episodes on Monday, December 27 according to Celeb Dirty Laundry. Plenty of drama will ensue this week before another break on Friday, December 31. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will be in very hot water with not only Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) as well. Sonny is slated to testify on Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) behalf. Carly will be twice as determined to make Nina pay after this revelation.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will join forces to get information on Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and Leo Falconeri’s (Easton Rocket Sweda) autism results will be in as well. To top this off, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will receive a special gift from Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). General Hospital’s annual New Year’s Eve party will ensue as well.
Fans may get a short stint of a break over Christmas but be prepared for things to heat up after Christmas and in the New Year, things are about to heat up.
