Olivia may have had good reason to kick Ned out of her bed, but the two are getting along great at the moment and there doesn’t seem to be any more reason to keep them apart. Yes, Ned slept with Alexis in a moment of drunken weakness and lied about it for months, but he thought Olivia was having her own affair with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). That was decidedly untrue and Ned was wrong to assume his wife would cheat when she’d never given him any reason to think she would stray, but affairs are the things that soap couples are made of and forgiveness is how soap romance survives.

Ned has apologized over and over. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) went so far as to go to prison after she hurt Olivia even more by drunkenly and crazily stabbing Liv’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). How much more contrition does the woman need before she just gives in and allows Ned to move back into her wing of the mansion?

Why would Ned sleep with Alexis? What was wrong with him? Olivia is the most honest woman he has ever been with and she trusted him implicitly and he should have done the same. Just because a woman is with another man doesn’t mean they are automatically having an affair. Ned also learned pretty early on that Olivia never strayed and he refused to come clean with her. She had to figure it out all on her own when she was trying to help Alexis out of a drunken-driving charge.

Maybe Olivia should just continue living as she has been, comfortably in a giant house and keeping her husband at arm’s length. Or maybe she should just give in and take him back. What should Olivia choose? Let us know in the General Hospital poll below.
