Who Plays Nina on General Hospital?

Fans instantly recognize the name of the much-maligned character on General Hospital for good reason. Though she has only been a character on the show for seven years, she has made quite an impact during that time. Nina is the only biological child of Madeline Reeves and her late father, known by the name Mr. Reeves.

Her father spoiled her as a child and thus she became accustomed to getting her way and would be prone to violence and aggression when she didn’t get her way, even pushing her mother down the stairs on one occasion.

Nina has not been without her own share of grief though, overdosing and spending 23 years in a coma and even giving birth while in that coma.

Who Has Played Nina Reeves?

Nina Reeves (56) was first portrayed as a character on General Hospital in May of 2014 by veteran soap star, Michelle Stafford, known best for her role as Phyllis Summer on The Young and the Restless for which she won two Daytime Emmy Awards.

The actress made her soap opera bones in 1990, on a short-lived soap called Tribes that was canceled after just three months.

Who Plays Nina on General Hospital?

She began work on The Young and the Restless in 1994 as Phyllis Summers in what was supposed to be a temporary role, but producers were so impressed with her that they quickly drew up a contract for her.

More recently, in 2019, 53-year-old Cynthia Watros was brought in to reprise the role of Nina Reeves.

She began her soap opera journey in 1994 as Annie Dutton on Guiding Light, a role which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1998.

In the years following, the actress filled many versatile roles in shows like The Drew Carey Show replacing Christa Miller from 2002 to 2004, and as psychologist Libby Smith on Lost.

Watros has filled the role from 2019 to present day.
