General Hospital Spoilers: Is Roger Howarth Done At General Hospital?
General Hospital Roger Howarth versatility as an actor can be proven simply by a look at his many amazing performances. He’s made a career in daytime television and has created many memorable characters during that time.
Of course, Howarth is best known for his portrayal of Todd Manning on One Life to Life which is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable roles in daytime television history.
Howarth even brought Manning over to General Hospital to romance Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) before legal issues forced General Hospital to write the character off. But it wouldn’t be long before Howarth was back in Port Charles, in a shocking recast role!
General Hospital Spoilers – Roger Howarth assumed the role of Franco Baldwin!
But Howarth wasn’t done with General Hospital, he then stepped in as a recast of James Franco’s Franco Baldwin! Viewers watched as Franco was diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused his earlier violent actions as played by James Franco.
But under Howarth’s steady hand, his version of Franco even found love with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Viewers were shocked when Franco was murdered by Peter August (Wes Ramsey). But that wasn’t the end of Howarth’s time on General Hospital!
GH Spoilers – Who was Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt?
About a month after Franco’s death. Howarth once again turned up, but this time he was the mysterious Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt. Austin seemed far different than any of Howarth’s previous roles and he even had ties to the Quartermaine family.
Austin’s romance with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) didn’t seem to go anywhere but then Austin was given a darker side and paired romantically with Ava Jerome (Maura West).
General Hospital Spoilers – IS Austin Gatlin-Holt dead?
The most recent Friday cliffhanger on General Hospital showed Austin shot and presumably dead at the hands of an unknown shooter. It’s not clear at the time if Austin, or by extension Howarth has gone from GH for good.
But given Howarth’s history, specifically on General Hospital, it seems unlikely that viewers have seen the last of him in Port Charles! The most likely question should be asked is who will he be playing once he does return?
