General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Anna DeVane (Finola Hughes) and Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) have seemed to be at peace with their breakup. While Finn is spending a lot of time with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), Anna has been focusing her attention on finding Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) supposedly missing baby. They don’t know that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is actually raising Maxie’s baby as his own. But that’s a story for another day. Valentin has been helping Anna search and they have started to grow even closer. But that hasn’t always been the case.
General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine and Anna DeVane have a complicated past.
While Valentin may or may not have been romantically involved with Anna in the past (it gets a bit complicated because Anna has some of her twin sister Alex Devane’s memories). But he certainly believed that they did. He got angry when “Anna” rebuffed him and took what he though was Anna’s baby and took her from the family that took the baby in and gave him to his father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). This baby grew to adulthood and he took the name Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
General Hospital Spoilers – Peter August’s reign of terror destroyed many of those close to Anna DeVane.
Peter has been responsible for many crimes in Port Charles. He caused the plane Drew Cain (Billy Miller) to go down, leaving Drew presumed dead. He murdered Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) in cold blood, leaving Elizabeth a widow. He also poisoned Finn’s younger brother, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) in an attempt to keep Anna from going after him.
He is also the father of Maxie’s baby and the reason Maxie gave her baby to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) to raise until Peter was brought to justice. Valentin feels guilty for the man Peter became. And even though Anna is only Peter’s aunt, and not his mother, she also feels guilty because she vouched for Peter to Maxie.
General Hospital Spoilers – The search for Maxie Jones’ baby will bring Anna DeVane and Valentin Cassadine together.
Valentin and Anna began to work together to bring Peter to justice. Valentin was prepared to kill Peter so Anna wouldn’t have to . And although Peter appears to have escaped, Valentin and Anna have continued working together to find the baby. On the 4th of July, after sharing sparklers, the two of them shared more than that as they kissed! But will they be able to forge a relationship just from an attraction, or will the past be too much to overcome?
With Finn seemingly moving on with Elizabeth, Anna is free to find love again. As far as Valentin goes, he seems to finally be over losing Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and is also single. The potential to explore what their kiss means is happening at a great time, if they can see their way through!
