General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease, when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) tells his mother that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) has decided to search for her birth parents, after all, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is completely caught off guard. Michael didn’t expect the news to have a major impact on Carly in any direction, but it’s going to stand out to him as particularly odd when she seems defensive and obstinate. As is typical of Michael, he won’t get caught in the weeds of why Carly is acting the way she is. He’s too busy for drama right now and has enough on his mind to worry about. Besides, the last thing he’s thinking is his mother already knows who Willow’s birth mother is and has kept it to herself.

When Michael tells his family about their new adventure, several of them will extend their willingness to help. If Willow wants to find her mother, no one should take any issue with that — especially in a group that is as big on the family as this one is. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) are sure to think it’s a good idea, and they’ll be happy for Willow that she’s ready for this development in her life. Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) is definitely going to be on board with the plan and might even recommend a psychic who could help point Willow in the right direction. Michael might be a Quartermaine but his biggest supporter and ally has always been his mother, so he will be taken aback when she seems hesitant to help and dismissive of anyone else’s plans to.

Although Michael isn’t going to pester Carly much about why she’s behaving so strangely, he will confront her head-on. It might not happen just yet though. Michael is trying hard not to add any stress to Willow’s life right now. So if he’s got a beef with his mom, he’s likely to take it up with her some other time when Willow isn’t within earshot. Rest assured when he does have time to chat with his mom one-on-one, she’s going to entertain telling him the truth for a split second, but she won’t. Instead, she’s likely to tell Michael he’s right and to apologize just so they can move forward and away from the awkwardness her immediate reaction spurred.

Carly Corinthos Feigns Support

When Michael backs Carly into a corner, she’s going to pretend her only concern is Willow. Carly will claim she doesn’t want Willow to make this decision on a whim. After all, it was Willow who said she didn’t want to know who her birth mother was just months ago, and she was adamant it would probably turn out to be someone like Nina. Carly will tell Michael she hopes Willow is sure she wants to open this can of worms, and Michael might sense Carly is implying she knows more than she’s letting on. When confronted, Carly will back down and promise to be supportive, but inside, she’s reeling.
