General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Laura Wright is giving General Hospital fans some clues about what a marriage between Carly Corinthos and Jason Morgan, played by Steve Burton might be like. Laura’s take is that it’s going to be more love than “business”!
General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Corinthos And Jason Morgan Go Back Years
Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that the friendship between Carly and Jason goes back years, and yes, at one time they were lovers. More recently, General Hospital viewers saw them get engaged for “business reasons” – to present a united front to the Five Families, and specifically, to the Novak crime family which has been making noises about taking over Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) territory. General Hospital fans will recall that in December 2020 Sonny was presumed dead after falling through a collapsed bridge while pursuing Julian Jerome (William DeVry). Jerome’s body surfaced, Sonny’s did not – at least not right away.
He was found in a snowbank near Nixon Falls, Pennsylvania with no identification – the suit coat he had on had washed off him, which likely had all his identification, money, and cell phone. It was never found either. For the last several months he has lived simply as “Mike” and bartends at the Tan-O, which coincidentally is owned by Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) nurse friend Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy), and her husband Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton). The marriage of inconvenience between Carly and Jason has caused some heartache recently with Carly still grieving for Sonny, and Jason having to break up a deep soulmate-type romance with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). General Hospital viewers will recall that Carly, out of necessity for protection of Sonny’s territory and holdings had him declared dead much sooner than she would have otherwise.
General Hospital Updates – Fans Wonder If The Business Marriage Will Turn Into More – Laura Wright Thinks It Might
General Hospital fans have wondered if the business relationship marriage of “Jarly” will turn into more – Laura Wright thinks it might. After all, as previously stated, Carly and Jason were romantically involved and were lovers in the 1990s when Carly first appeared in Port Charles. She was actually involved with Jason before she became involved with Sonny, and the two have shared a deep bond ever since. She thinks there is a good possibility that Carly and Jason will find their long-buried romantic feelings for one another once again. In an interview with “TV Insider,” she says that the couple doesn’t go into the marriage lightly.
In fact, Laura says that what scares both of them about this arrangement is that they are afraid of the feelings that they have always had for each other. It turned into a deep friendship over the years, but the basis of their friendship is from when they were in love years ago when Sarah Brown was still playing Carly. Longtime General Hospital viewers will remember those years. Laura added that one reason that “Jarly’s” relationship is so special is that Carly has always accepted Jason unconditionally. Laura thinks that is just outstanding. Of course, if their marriage does turn into a real one with romantic love, chances are that’s when Sonny will get his memories back and find out his wife has married his best friend! He’s already had short bursts of memories!
