The message from the showrunners said:

Please help us congratulate @lldubs as she celebrates the 20th anniversary of her #GeneralHospital debut. Port Charles nor Carly Spencer would be the same without her.

What Other News Arrived?

Laura responded to her special anniversary as Carly Spencer in other places as well. TV Insider reported that Laura Wright said, “I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I wasn’t looking for this as a career.” Although she loved acting, to this day, her casting “still blows my mind.”

It all started quite by chance during the Daytime Emmy Awards back in 1997. Pregnant Sarah Brown, who played the role of Carly at the time, introduced her “to Wendy Riche,” saying she should replace her as Carly if she left. Well, it took eight years after that encounter for her to get the call to GH.
