GH Spoilers: Drew’s Taste for Revenge Shifts Away from Nina — and Toward His Brother?

General Hospital: Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) bold move in breaking up with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was just another choice in a string of bad decisions he will make in pursuit of ensuring no one ever gets his goat again.

He wasn’t about to put himself in the position of being number two to his twin brother, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). The mere thought of being shown up and made a fool of in that way was painful enough, let alone going through it.

So he cut Carly off at the pass and ended their relationship. In the end, it’s all about saving face and never letting himself be caught off guard or blindsided again — the way he was when he was jumped and beaten within inches of his life in prison.

General Hospital Spoilers — Drew Isn’t the Same

While Drew seemed angry with Carly at the time, his fury will actually soon be directed at his brother — who has come home and seemingly disrupted everyone’s lives.

Just what does Drew think he can do to Jason though, and how much of this revenge plan is about their shared ex?

Carly and Drew were destined for failure after he came back from Pentonville a changed man. Nearly losing his life for being too soft and trusting, Drew has been shaped by his traumatic experience in prison, and the outcome isn’t one everybody is loving.

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) addressed similar concerns, but they left things in a good place after Drew conceded that he wasn’t quite himself and would try harder not to let her new personality quirks interfere with the way they co-parent Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante).

As for Carly, she was stunned when Drew ended their relationship over his fear that he wouldn’t be a priority to her anymore, but was he really wrong?

General Hospital: Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)

GH Spoilers Hint Jason Could Bear the Brunt of Drew’s Feelings

Let’s be honest. Carly has tunnel vision for Jason and she saw nothing but his needs when he came to her. It didn’t occur to her to loop Drew in.

She even went to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — her ex-husband — before she told Drew anything that happened.

He had to come to her to get that information as she just hadn’t gotten around to even calling him. Despite being broken up, that still stings for Drew.

He’s not going to move past this easily, especially as he watches Carly do just what he knew she would — move onward, getting closer to and consumed by Jason.

As much as Drew might like to exact revenge on Carly for still loving a man he always knew she wasn’t over, he knows any backlash from him will only anger her — not inflict pain. But he can hurt her if he hurts Jason, right?

General Hospital Spoilers — It All Comes Back to Carly

Yes, ultimately, it’s all about Carly. Drew isn’t threatened by Jason. He doesn’t even have much respect for him. In his eyes, his brother is nothing like him — a career criminal who gave up his family and good reputation to be a petty enforcer in the mob.

All the while, Drew made all of the right choices to be an upstanding guy and somehow he still lost the girl to the bad boy.

Some fans suspect Drew’s new working relationship with Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) could end up overlapping with an agenda to get back at Carly, but it’s also possible that Drew is ready to play dirty — and he may do it by the book, working to take Jason down.

Nothing would cripple Carly more, and if she can’t be with Jason, all the better for Drew. Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just around the corner.

In my opinion under the circumstances writers shouldn’t have penned a Carly/Drew relationship. First of all there is no way the two could bond as brothers, as Drew first become involved with Sam who we all know Jason loved even though he may not have shown it very well. Drew also had to have known how Carly felt about Jason as everyone else in town did. So in my opinion his problems are all his fault for becoming involved with the wrong woman. If he felt he could win Jason’s place in Carly’s heart, he has Nina was in a fantasy world. Like CM but don’t feel he was the right recast for the Drew character and don’t feel writers have supported development of the character.
