Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) often shouts out his son, Joshua Benard (Adam) for his talent, and this weekend, the General Hospital star told his ABC followers that it was a special birthday.
Joshua Turns 21!
Taking to his Instagram, the real-life Sonny Corinthos told his daytime drama fans that Joshua celebrated his 21st Birthday! As everyone knows, turning 21 is a major milestone in life. So, he seemed very proud to note that his son is successful in his chosen career.
Maurice wrote, “It’s my son @jjbenard 21st birthday today,” and then he added, “His song ladybug also out today.” Praising his boy, he noted, “He’s a great kid with loads of talent and works his ass off and that’s what I’m most proud of.”
Surprisingly, Joshua Benard didn’t always have the confidence to be a musician. His dad explained, “He said when he was younger, and started to get into music, he didn’t want to start because he was afraid he wouldn’t be any good.”
Next, Maurice Benard asked his General Hospital fans to help him celebrate the day. He wrote, “So here we are, listen to ladybug wherever you can hear music if you like it listen to it 1 million times!”

It’s not the first time Maurice Benard has shouted out Joshua’s new song. Back in October, he told his GH fans that his son was in talks “with very exciting people and he has his EP coming out soon.”
At the time, he told his many followers that he’s Joshua Benard’s biggest fan and he feels very proud that he has a “real singer songwriter in the family.”
On another occasion, the daytime soap veteran also mentioned that his boy wanted to raise his own funds to create the video for his song.
