General Hospital Spoilers: Is Cody Going to Confess the Truth to Mac?
General Hospital spoilers reveals ever since Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) came to Port Charles, he’s had an agenda — but Cody isn’t as black and white as he seemed at first. Sure, he might have been chasing diamonds and rubies, but the appeal of owning that necklace wasn’t only because it was worth $35 million. Cody wanted something that was his, that belonged to him, Josh Kelly relayed to Soap Opera Digest . He’s never had that before. The kid has lived a hard-knock life, and he doesn’t feel like it’s going to relent anytime soon now that he’s made such a mess out of what could have been a wonderful thing — having a family. Will he come clean with Mac Scorpio (John J. York) now that the necklace is out of the picture?
General Hospital Spoilers — Cody Was Lying From the Start
When Cody first arrived in town, his primary goal was to make sure he gained access to Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) necklace. He really believed Taub was his father, and that the necklace was rightfully his. So when a paternity test revealed Mac was actually Cody’s dad, he was floored. He never expected those results. In fact, Cody has been telling himself for most of his life that his father must’ve been a terrible person.
In some way, that helped him to let himself off the hook for making bad choices. Now that Cody knows his dad is the beloved Mac Scorpio, he’s having to reconcile with himself that his choices have been his own and not the result of a poor genetic lottery. Still, in the split second that Cody realized Mac was his dad, he had to make a decision. Choosing between Mac and the necklace wasn’t the easy choice many have assumed it was. Cody wasn’t just favoring a fortune over a father, he was choosing between easy living with millions of dollars, and a lifetime of trying to live up to the expectations of a man like Mac. The latter option seemed nearly impossible to Cody.
GH Spoilers Indicate Mac and Cody Reconnect
When Mac has to break it to Cody that the necklace was lost in the cabin explosion, Cody may be devastated. Mac will follow up by offering Cody that beer they talked about, as though drowning his sorrows was going to help him regain such a massive fortune. But this is what friends do, so it will mean a lot when Mac lends his time and an ear to Cody. However, it’s going to pain Cody at the same time knowing this is his father and he can’t connect with him that way.
General Hospital Spoilers — A Snowball Effect
Is Cody going to continue to produce lies that cover for his past, or will he break the truth to Mac? For now, he’s not going to think indulging his own feelings makes any sense. Would he love to be a part of a family like Mac and Felicia Scorpio’s (Kristina Wagner)? Sure, but Cody has spent a number of years being down on his luck and thinking that’s what he’s destined for.
