General Hospital Spoilers: Esme’s Status as a Single Mom Won’t Last Long When Cam Comes Home

General Hospital spoilers tease Cameron ‘Cam’ Webber (William Lipton) is making his return to Port Charles this summer as his portrayer, William Lipton, does the same. His reprisal just might kick off with Cam coming home to regale his friends with stories of parties and poolside life in California, playing soccer for Stanford. But he’ll leave out one crucial detail — the real reason he couldn’t wait to get back to Port Chuck…Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).

The last time everyone saw Cam, they were bidding him farewell at his goodbye party at Charlie’s — where they never expected him to show up with Esme and her son, Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay). They definitely won’t see it coming when he heads back home for the summer and shows up to meet them with Esme, again.

It’s intriguing to ponder the possibility that Cam and Esme have been secretly keeping in touch all this time. It might be the beginning of a beautiful love story — one in which Esme turns the tides and becomes the good girl she wants everyone to see in her. Maybe she wants to be good enough for Cam.

Or maybe Cam’s friends have every right to be concerned, because Esme did release a sex tape of Cam with his ex, and she is conveniently not paying any consequences for her actions as long as she keeps saying she doesn’t remember them. Regardless, it looks like Cam will be bringing her around more this summer, whether Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and the rest of the crew like it or not.

GH Spoilers Leak Esme May Not Have an Agenda, But Cam Could

Cam might have been a breath of fresh air for Esme when he hauled her off to his goodbye party — her first invite to anything since being released from the hospital. A lot will have happened since Cam was last home — including Ace’s kidnapping, but who’s to say Cam didn’t help Esme keep her wits about her the entire time as she waited to get her son back.

Despite their rocky history, Cam may not hold a grudge and probably doesn’t want to see Esme make any missteps that could cause her to lose Ace. Cam has a soft spot for single moms of boys, go figure. So, just as he took her under his wing and brought her along to his party that night, perhaps he’s kept her there ever since. Of course, that doesn’t mean Esme isn’t playing him for a fool the entire time, but one can hope!

Likewise, Cam left town in a weird place with Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy). They weren’t on the worst of terms anymore, and it seemed like a friendship was possible down the road. That’s good, since Joss is going to be very concerned when he appears to be coupled up with her worst nightmare. How could he? It’ll feel like such a betrayal to her, and he’ll have to let it stay that way if he has any shot at getting Esme to confess to all she’s done.
