But in this case, his desire may have led him down a dangerous path. With Selina Wu (Lydia Look) offering him the chance rig the DNA test and make sure it results in Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) bring his child, Curtis might have made a mistake that could contend with Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) original faux pas of keeping them all in the dark.
His initial skepticism should have been a sign to hold back, but Curtis may have eventually given in to the temptation. The question remains: why does Selina need such a powerful weapon against him? Whatever her motive may be, Curtis is now left to face the consequences of his actions, and his loved ones might bear the brunt of them as well.

The situation with Selina and Curtis is a complex and troublesome one. It’s a sad truth that Selina has the power to fix the test to ensure that Trina is confirmed as Curtis’s daughter, even if he had said otherwise. Regardless of what Curtis wanted, Selina could sense he has been pulling back from their mutually beneficial relationship and she may want to ensure she maintains leverage over him that he cares about.

Trina’s true parentage has the potential to drastically alter not just her life and Curtis’, but Portia’s and Marcus Taggert’s (Réal Andrew) as well. While Curtis may initially feel a rush of adrenaline when he discovers that Trina is his biological daughter, there are sure to be challenges along the way. He and Portia are hardly married and this could push them further apart from Curtis’ POV while leaving Portia hoping it would pull them together.

Marcus promised Trina their relationship wouldn’t change even if she turned out to be Curtis’ biological daughter, and nothing could be further from the truth. Of course this is going to change everything! Trina is gaining another dad, but Marcus is just going to be left feeling like he’s losing a daughter.
Although he knows Trina loves him and always will, he won’t be able to stop himself from feeling jealous that she’s so excited to spend time with Curtis and get to know more about his life and history. That’s going to lead Marcus to do a little more digging into Curtis’ life, too, and he’s not going to be keen on the company he keeps at The Savoy.
