General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of May 22, 2023 reveal some sad, sad news about a beloved show veteran. Kin Shriner debuted as Scott Baldwin waaaaay back in 1977 and it’s fair to say that some current viewers watched this fair-haired actor and the character he played, grow up onscreen.

Last week he tweeted: “I just found out Scotty was written out.” He thanked his fans “for decades of supporting me.”
Shriner tweeted similar messages in 2018 and 2020 and yet here we are.

At any rate Scotty was batting a zero with his love Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and has just hatched another epic Scotty Baldwin scheme which may end up taking him out of town.

This week Vernee Watson is back as Aunt Stella. It’s a good thing, too, as the nephew she helped to raise, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has his hands full. First, he needs to find out if he is Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) biological father. Second, he has two Port Charles, New York women heavily lusting after him. We have no doubt that Aunt Stella will set him straight, and make him fly right. Which means saying no to Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) temptations.

The lovely and talented Emma Samms left last week after her character Holly Sutton had a tearful goodbye with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers).
After all, Holly has to whip up some funds to cover her grown a** man child’s debts. Ethan is a “Robin Hood” who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, with just a little something-something kept on the side to cover his expenses. Since Holly and her acorn are nothing but trouble, Robert found it hard to pledge his troth to her, what with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) up in his grill.
It’s going to be an exciting week GH fans, tell us your favorite May Sweeps storyline!

I never did find out if Emma Samms was staying on GH for a while so I was sad last week when she and Robert parted ways. Again! ? They were magical as a couple/husband and wife and I loved them together. I know most of the fans posted that they wanted Robert with Diane and although Diane is one of my favorite characters I just can’t “see” her in a romantic role with the suave and debonair Robert Scorpio. I have a suspicion that many of the Diane/Robert fans didn’t watch GH back when Robert was with Holly. Robert even still has mad chemistry with Anna even though they are “just friends” now. I think there will always be a fire between them just simmering under the surface.
Hoping Emma will come back again sometime in the future and GH will write having Holly and Robert try again.
