General Hospital spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Soap Opera Digest that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will have a barn dance bust of a date. Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) sets up their first date in the Quartermaine stables with Comet the horse as a chaperone.
General Hospital Spoilers: Cody Bell Went To The Extremes To Get A First Date With Britt Westbourne
Cody went to the extremes to get a first date with Britt, blackmailing Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) into engineering a perfect match on the Society Setups app. Before the date happens, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) calls him to task for thinking of Britt as a challenge that he couldn’t resist. Portrayer Josh Kelly sees a certain amount of truth in that, since there are many people who date people they don’t really want to be with just as a challenge.
Josh admits to SOD that both he and his character tend to overcomplicate things as to have more chaos in their lives. Some people get bored with a easy and unchallenging lifestyle, and they have to bring the drama.
GH Spoilers: Cody Bell Sets Up His And Britt Westbourne’s First Date At The Quartermaine Stables
Cody sets up his and Britt’s first date at the Quartermaine stables, which to Cowboy Cody might seem romantic, but to city girl Britt, perhaps not so much. The smells of hay and horse manure and the sounds of whinnies and snorts just aren’t Britt’s thing, even though the Quartermaines have a very fancy stable. Romance isn’t on her mind whatsoever although she could just imagine a romantic kiss being interrupted by Comet sticking his horse face in between those of the two participants. Still, Cody does his best to make a good impression, since the first one he made was not the type of big splash he would have preferred.
General Hospital Spoilers: Cody Bell Strives To Be Boring, Fearing He’ll Be Thought Of As Nuts
Cody strives to be boring, fearing if he’s being himself he’ll be thought of as nuts; Britt might actually need a little crazy in her life to keep her sane. She has worries of developing full blown Huntingtons’ Disease in the future, residual grief over Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) loving and leaving and then dying, and she could use distraction. Britt picks up pretty quickly on Cody’s intentional blandness, and she calls him on it; outspokenness being her forte.
Britt actually tells him this is the most boring date she has ever been on and the most boring person she’s ever dated. Cody becomes more than just a little defensive at her remarks, but she soon gets the upper hand in the situation.
GH Spoilers: Cody Bell Is Discouraged
By the end of the date, Cody is discouraged to say the least – but Britt did give him a little minor encouragement. She does like that he’s not a carbon copy of everyone else, even though he was trying to be “everyone else”. She’s kind of a renegade in her way and he likes her edginess, plus even as a doctor and GH co-chief of staff she makes more money than him! He has a somewhat mistaken impression that she comes from money in the form of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), and Cody thinks there’s a hidden fortune because of that!
