General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) will probably never be the closest of friends, but at least for now, it seems as though the two long-term enemies will call a truce. When Sonny was ready to finally leave Nixon Falls and return home, it was Jax who offered him the use of his helicopter. Jax even said, “Welcome back, Sonny.” So in some ways, Jax is literally and figuratively responsible for Sonny coming back home.

Sonny and Jax have been fighting over Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) for years. Sonny ended up winning Carly’s heart and they would have been together forever most likely had Sonny not lost his memory. Time will tell if Sonny and Carly are able to reconcile this time, but Jax seems to be firmly in Sonny’s corner. Jax believes that if someone needs to be the head of organized crime in Port Charles, then that person should be Sonny.

Sonny most certainly remembers his time as “Mike”. So he knows that Jax has been doing everything in his power to convince Nina to tell “Mike” who he really was. When Nina wouldn’t budge, he then gave her an ultimatum. Nina was about to tell Mike the truth when Peter August (Wes Ramsey) set fire to the Tan-O. And while it was his time in the fire that actually allowed Sonny to remember everything, he knows that Jax was trying to make it happen as well.

Jax will always hate the violence that surrounds Sonny and the danger that often follows him. But Jax is coming from a place of love, not revenge. He doesn’t want to see Carly or even his daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) caught in the crossfire because of Sonny’s lifestyle. So even though it may seem that he hates Sonny, it’s not really that simple. Jax hates the business that Sonny is in. But even Jax will have to admit that Sonny is the best person to run the underworld in Port Charles if it has to be there.
