General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) has had an uphill battle in his quest to reconcile with his wife, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero). And not without good reason. Last year, when Olivia went out of town with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Ned mistakenly believed that they were sleeping together. Unable to reach his wife, Ned got drunk and had a one-night stand with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). But to make matters worse, almost everyone in Port Charles knew about the affair before Olivia found out.

But Ned didn’t just break his wedding vows, he actively tried to keep the truth from his wife. Even when Olivia went out of her way to help Alexis deal with her alcoholism, they tried to keep the truth from her. But the truth always comes out, and when Olivia did happen upon it, she was understandably furious. For a while, it looked as though they would break up for good. But Olivia began to soften, at least until Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) discovered something about Olivia’s son, Leo Falconeri (Aaron Bradshaw).

After treating Leo for a small cut, Austin noticed that Leo may not communicate the same way as other kids. Not wanting to diagnose it himself, Austin suggested to Ned that Leo see a specialist. But Olivia blew up at both Ned and Austin. But she will likely eventually relent. And when she does, she will likely be grateful to Ned for standing up to her for the sake of their son.

To say that Olivia is protective of her children is an understatement. So when Ned wouldn’t back down, even risking Olivia’s wrath, she might finally be ready to take her husband back. Ned and Olivia truly do love each other and have proven they won’t just give up on each other or their children. In the end, that is all Olivia wants. As long as Ned doesn’t break their vows again, this marriage might be forever!
