General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) isn’t sure how much longer she can feign being happy in a relationship with Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse). When Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) went away to Pentonville, it was much easier for Trina to be angry with him. She was hurt by what she thought he had done — chose Esme Prine (Avery Kristen Pohl) over her.

It was only the day he got locked up that she found out the truth — Spencer was actually trying to clear Trina’s name, but he felt it was important to do so in a covert fashion without letting anyone know what he was up to. Trina still felt betrayed by this, but hearing from Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) that Spencer was intending to confess his feelings to her tormented Trina for the duration of Spencer’s time in lock-up. When she finally got up the nerve to go see him behind bars, he was honest with her about why he did what he did, and wouldn’t apologize for not telling her sooner. She understood his conviction but still felt left out in the cold. They parted ways equally misunderstood. Now that Spencer has been released from Pentonville, one of his first stops was crashing Trina’s anniversary date night dinner with Rory and asking her if they can start over. Certainly, Spencer is going to continue to permeate every corner of Trina’s mind.

Trina has been hyper-focused on all the reasons she shouldn’t be with Spencer, but the only reason she can give herself that she shouldn’t be with Rory is that it’s unfair to him that she’s not fully committed. Her heart and mind are often in another place with Spencer. However, the truth is Trina has numerous reasons she shouldn’t be with Rory. She isn’t all that attracted to him anymore. She couldn’t go all the way with him without picturing Spencer. She routinely seems to forget he exists while she obsesses over psychoanalyzing every move Spencer has made. She has plenty of reasons not to be with Rory, who has become wallpaper in her life.

Ava is a romantic at heart and the perfect person to advise Trina on the trouble she’s having choosing between the stable force Rory is in her life and the chaotic firestorm of love she feels for Spencer. Ava might not be Spencer’s number one fan, but she adores Trina and only wants to see her happy.

Unfortunately, that’s not what lies ahead for Trina in the immediate future. She and Spencer are going to dance around their love for one another for some time before anything happens. In the meantime, Trina is going to have to let Rory go, and it won’t end with her feeling like she did right by him.
