General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of March 27, 2023 show that the sudser has a special tribute planned for one of its late leading ladies.
General Hospital spoilers: The week of March 27, 2023 Pays Tribute to Sonya Eddy
The ABC sudser pays tribute to the late actress Sonya Eddy and her character, Epiphany Johnson, on Wednesday, March 29. Sonya died last December from complications following a non-emergency surgery.
According to PageSix, her friend Tyler Ford stated that the 55-year-old actress had a medical procedure on Dec. 9 and was released on Dec. 11. Four days later the actress felt ill and returned to the hospital at which time doctors discovered an infection that ultimately took her life.
The network later released a statement to the outlet stating: “General Hospital is sad to confirm the passing of actress Sonya Eddy, who embodied her character … the tough but compassionate, head nurse, Epiphany Johnson … and immediately became a fan favorite and beloved member of our ‘GH’ family when she joined the show in 2006.”

Later executive producer Frank Valentini said he was heartbroken over the loss: “The lights in the hub of the nurses’ station will now be a little dimmer, but her spirit and light will live on in both the show and our set. On behalf of the entire ‘GH’ cast and crew, we send our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and fans. She will be very missed.”
The special episode will feature Drew Cheetwood as Milo Giambetti. Milo and Epiphany were an item at one time. He and his brother were also employed by coffee importer Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Fans last saw the magic man in 2020.

Epiphany’s friend and fellow nurse Felix DuBois (Marc Anthony Samuel) will also be seen. Felix debuted in 2012 as a friend of fellow nursing student Sabrina Santiago.
Yvette Nicole Brown was a longtime friend of Eddy’s and she will also be featured in the tribute to the late actress.
