Five Things to Know About General Hospital Newcomer Michael Blake Kruse
General Hospital spoilers reveal Spencer Cassadine has a bit of competition for Trina Robinson’s heart in the form of Officer Rory Cabrera, played by soap opera newcomer Michael Blake Kruse.
General Hospital Spoilers: Rory Has A Soft Spot For Trina
Although he probably shouldn’t be trying to date someone he has had to watch in a professional capacity after she was arrested — albeit on false grounds — Rory Cabrera seems to be falling for Trina Robinson, prompting Spencer to call him “That guy” every time he sees him around Trina.
While Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) is trying to bait Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) into telling the truth about the Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (Will Lipton) sex tape, Rory is trying to catch her in his own way. And Michael Blake Kruse is becoming a hit with fans. Learn a little more about this actor now.
What You Need To Know About Michael Blake Kruse
Kruse is a family man and even has a little girl who will turn two in November. On Father’s Day in 2021, he posted his love for his new role in life on Instagram. “It’s a special day and I’m grateful to be in the club. I don’t take this role lightly and I’ve been blessed to have so many men in my life who have always been present with their kids, including my own dad.”
The actor was living back home in Iowa when he was called to audition for the role of Rory. He didn’t even hear that they wanted him to do another test until he was on his way back. “The audition was only one scene, but I felt great about it and I felt connected with what they had written for me,” Kruse told Soap Opera Digest. “I think it was a pretend scene from some other past character, but we sent it off and I didn’t hear anything for a week or so.”
When Kruse told his mom he had landed a role on GH, she was absolutely thrilled as she had been a fan of the ABC soap for years. His mom is also apparently a big Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) fan.
Kruse and Tabyana Ali bonded as newcomers to General Hospital, as Rory appeared on the scene soon after Ali took over the role of Trina from Sydney Mikayla.
The actor who brings Rory to life was shocked by his reception from GH fans. As he told Soap Opera Digest: “I didn’t know if the warm reception from anyone was anything exceptional, or if it was just because I was a newcomer, but I was kind of surprised by how kind everybody was and I was also very surprised by how invested these fans are and how much they know about the storylines.”
Will Rory manage to steal Trina’s heart from Spencer? Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to find out.
