Nancy Lee Grahn Honors Late ‘GH’ Star Tony Geary

It was only recently that Anthony “Tony” Geary (Luke Spencer) got a shout-out from Maurice Benard when he tuned in to watch his interview with Genie Francis. But since then, the sad news arrived that Tony passed away. Now, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) gave Tony the sweetest tribute.
Nancy’s Sweet Tribute
On Wednesday night, Nancy Lee Grahn took to her Instagram and shared a photo of herself standing alongside Tony Geary in front of a Disney event banner. Her long caption made ABC fans feel very sad, but also helped them remember the good old days on the daytime soap.

Nancy said, “The actor I’ve learned the most from, loved to work with the most, revered the most, laughed with the most, was inspired by the most, got in the most trouble with and had the most fun with, was Tony Geary.”
Then, she added, “He was a masterful craftsman, a wordsmith, irreverent, curious, intelligent, endlessly generous. clever, a good troublemaker, dapper, delightfully naughty, a deep thinker. a great writer, editor and pontificator, almost always on the right side of every issue. sexy, sagacious, defiant, determined, kind and true.”
More Arrived from the GH Star
The General Hospital star continued:
If Tone Tone, as I called him, hadn’t leapt out of the generic soapbox of yore, and broadened and expanded the definition and perception of a Daytime performer, I doubt I’d have ever taken a job in Daytime Television. Tony was the pioneer of real, exciting, multi dimensional, unpredictable acting in the Daytime Serial world. He brought excitement to the medium, and I was excited by it.”
Finally, the real-life Alexis Davis said, “Tony was my teacher, my champion, most daring partner in acting crime, and my cherished friend. I will miss him in the flesh but will see that ‘Fck em’ twinkle in his eye for evermore.”
Fans React
Nancy doesn’t always get gold stars for her sometimes outspoken ways. However, there were no complaints in the tribute to Tony Geary. One follower penned, “I am picturing Tony, as Luke, saying ‘Natasha’ now & smiling. Sending you so much love!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- loved the scenes with you and Tony. Luke was the only one who could call Alexis “Natasha.” He was one of a kind. RIP Tony.
- So beautiful Nancy. He will be forever missed.
- So sorry for your loss of a dear friend and mentor. He will always and forever be my favorite from GH. The two of you together were magic!
By now, you probably already heard that Tony passed away at the age of 78. The news arrived on December 14 and GH fans found out that he had post-surgical complications.
