Over the weekend, Kelly Kruger took to social media to share how good it felt getting such a warm welcome from fans after joining General Hospital (GH). Read on to find out how ABC daytime soap fans react.
A Sweet Post
On her Instagram account, the actress who plays the role Serena Baldwin wrote, “Thank you @generalhospitalabc fans for welcoming me the way you have. I have said it before and I will say it again, there are no fans like soap fans and no medium quite like this one.”
Then she added, “I am so grateful for every single one of your messages comments and words of love and support. Some of you have been with me since day one on Y&R and I just love you all so much.”
In her message, Kelly Kruger also tagged Rory Gibson, Lynn Herring, Chris L. McKenna, and Kristina Wagner, writing that “the entire cast and crew have been a dream to work with.”
Finally, she ended by asking her many followers: “So what does everyone think of Serena so far?”
What Fans Said To Kelly
Followers quickly arrived in the comments to answer the question about how they liked Serena. One General Hospital fan wrote, “Such a great addition. Love a little sugar and spice.”
Speculating on romance, another follower said to Kelly Kruger, “Looking forward to seeing who Serena gets paired with romantically and what else she has up her sleeves.”
Then they congratulated her on landing the GH role, saying, “Congratulations on booking the job you’ve been a pleasure to watch. Loved the little slip and tuck with Brennan.”

The Role Feels ‘Right’
Kelly Kruger debuted as Serena Baldwin on July 30 when she took over the legacy role previously played by Carly Schroeder.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Kruger said playing Serena “feels right to me” after stepping away from soaps to focus on her family and lifestyle business.
Acting Life
When she arrived on GH, Serena Baldwin jumped straight into trouble at Deception Cosmetics, along with plotlines involving Michael Corinthos and Willow Cain.
According to a profile on Ekiti South West Local Government, Kruger was born in 1982, in Montreal, Quebec. Elite Models scouted her when she was 17, and she changed to acting in the early 2000s, getting her breakout role as Mackenzie Browning on The Young and the Restless.
She also appeared as Eva on The Bold and the Beautiful in various stints between 2014 and 2021. Beyond daytime shows, she landed spots on Bones, Castle, Entourage, and iZombie and fans also saw her appear in A Very Corgi Christmas.
