General Hospital Star Laura Wright Reveals Story Behind Emmy Outfit
General Hospital star Laura Wright might not have won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress at the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards –that honor ultimately went to The Young and the Restless’ Mishael Morgan — but she got to wear the outfit of her dreams anyway.
General Hospital’s Laura Wright Knew She’d Be Pretty In Pink
Laura Wright definitely stood out at the Emmys on Friday night in a hot pink ensemble that was calling her name more than a year ago, as the actress tells it.
“I fell in love with this dress/jumpsuit almost a year ago and I thought if I get nominated I’m wearing this! When the nominations came out I went straight to the website and it was sold out and I was so sad!!” Wright wrote next to a series of photos of her posing in the jumpsuit both before and during the Emmys. Two photos include co-star Lisa LoCicero (Olivia Quartermaine) and another includes boyfriend and former co-star Wes Ramsey (Peter August).
“I couldn’t find anything else to wear I tried on tons of dresses but my heart was still with this piece one week ago I went on the website went to the sale section and there it was!!! Manifestation baby!!! Haaaa. I just LOVE it ! Halston!!!”
Carly’s World Is Not As Happy As Laura’s World
It looks like Wright lucked out for a glorious night in which the daytime drama world came out and supported one another while being all together for the first time in two years. Too bad Carly Corinthos is not having as much luck as the actress who plays her.
As Laura Wright plays in Carly’s World as she likes to call it, she has to now bring a character to life who is losing it all thanks to her own hubris. Carly thought she would have all the money in the world by investing in Aurora using a little insider trading knowledge thanks to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). She did not count on the Aurora-ELQ merger not going through and will end up with nothing in the end.
Will Carly find someone new to take revenge on when this is all over? Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) could become victims. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to find out.
