General Hospital Spoilers: The JaBritt Hookup We’re All Dying for Will Come to Fruition This Winter

General Hospital spoilers reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) are headed for a hook-up, but how long it’ll last is yet to be seen.

GH writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte sat down with TV Insider recently to discuss what lies ahead for Port Chuck’s best and brightest.

When the subject of JaBritt came up, they leaked that Jason and Britt would find their way back together this winter, likely when a blizzard hits. That might be in town, or outside of it somewhere.

They could be on the run, looking for someone, or on some other adventure. But the same pattern of behavior rings true that once these two strip away the conflicts of the outside world, they quickly fall back into each others’ arms. How long will it last though?

It doesn’t surprise me one bit that Jason and Britt might need to be stranded somewhere during a snowstorm to finally face their fears — and there’s a long list of them. Britt is afraid of being abandoned by Jason again.

She’s pretty much living in a perpetual time of need, and she has no idea what the future holds. Part of her probably doesn’t want to die alone, but part of her also probably doesn’t feel it’s fair to get involved with someone when she has a terminal illness.

She tried that before. It didn’t end well. As for Jason, he keeps trying to help Britt, but he might not be dishing out what she actually needs. Is he capable of that?

GH Spoilers Question If Britt is Asking Too Much

Britt’s list of demands doesn’t actually seem like a long one, but it may still be too much, relative to what Jason can deliver.

She knew when she originally got involved with him that he had other priorities in his life. One of them was Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — somewhat by way of working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and being his brother from another mother, somewhat by way of still loving Carly.

Has that love faded? It seems that GH is pretending it has, for the time being. Until when? Until the other shoe drops? That’s exactly what Britt is afraid of and why she won’t let Jason in. Until he can confirm that he’s never going to leave her in the lurch, she won’t give an inch.

Will Jason Deliver?

Does this mean the snowstorm headed their way will somehow lead Jason to promise he won’t abandon Britt like he did last time? He knows he can’t make that promise, so I don’t see it happening.

Rather, I see Britt conceding and settling for what she can get from him, versus having all of her needs met. This could set them up for a fairly anxiety-riddled relationship — and one that is full of digs at Carly and disappointment in Jason.

Is there any other way for them to be together though? It doesn’t look like it. Here’s to hoping something shifts in the new year to make the path forward less volatile.
