General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny’s Future Rests in Anna’s Hands — and It’ll Surprise Everyone Who Jumps in to Save Him

General Hospital Spoilers say Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) thinks he has a vague idea of the trouble that might lie ahead since Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has decided to join the PCPD police force, but that concern is just scratching the surface.

Sonny is already reeling from the painful loss of so many of his friends and loved ones who have seemingly turned on him — whether they truly did or not is irrelevant.

For Sonny, that pain is tangible, and now he’s about to face another crushing blow as he comes to realize he doesn’t have the legal protection he thought he did in his beloved city.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Miller) may not be able to work her magic this time around as Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) brings the hammer down on Sonny. Is there any way out? Will anyone be left to help him?

General Hospital Spoilers — Betrayal Knocks Again

As if Sonny wasn’t already feeling like the world was against him, he’s going to feel the full force of the law soon if Anna plays her cards right — and he won’t know what hit him.

For years, Sonny hasn’t necessarily had to negotiate favoritism from the PCPD. Not everyone there loves him, but he’s had some allies along the way. At the present time, he has the security of believing Anna and Laura aren’t necessarily in his back pocket, but they’re not going to go out of their way to go after him either.

Unfortunately for Sonny, that is no longer the situation, but no one has briefed him on the change in circumstances. When Anna gets the opportunity to take Sonny down, she’s going to take it — and with Mayor Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) support. This is sure to leave Sonny feeling stunned and more betrayed than ever.

GH Spoilers Tease Dex Isn’t the Guy He Thinks He Is

Dex wasn’t the least bit comfortable at Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) bachelor party, but he appreciated the invite and the nudge Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) gave the other officers as he tried to encourage them to embrace Dex joining the force.

But Dex has bigger concerns than worrying about not fitting in with the boys in blue. He might be missing Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) and furious with himself for losing her all because of his blind sense of duty to Sonny, but something tells us that loyalty is still ingrained in him — and it’s going to be harder to ditch than just taking up a badge of honor.

General Hospital Spoilers — Who Remains in Sonny’s Corner?

While Dex might be stuck between a rock and a hard place — taking Sonny down when some part of him still doesn’t want to, while also knowing cooperating and police protection is his best bet at survival — it won’t be easy choosing himself again over Sonny after all the don did for him.

But rumor has it that it may not be Dex who changes course and spares Sonny. Rather, it could be Dante who finally breaches code to keep his dad from going down when he feels his own team at the PCPD unfairly set him up and used Dex against him.

Will this be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and finally sends Dante over to the dark side to protect his pops? Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers to find out.

  • Why is there suddenly a war between Sonny and Valentine? Over Spencer’s connection to Sonny? Over Nina? What’s at stake? If the writers were true to GH they would not have asked us to suspend disbelief to accept that Anna and Laura have turned on Sonny because he beat up Silas. Continuing to call Silas a helpless old man is also too much rewriting of history. Instead all the town’s favorite characters would be united in fighting the evil outsiders as in the past. Pikeman is evil because they infiltrated the WSB and Victor Cassidine was always involved and they tried to kill half the world’s population just last year. Get Valentine back on the right side of things, operating as a double agent who is trying to put things right for Anna and to be a genuinely good “papa” again. Who is Valentine. They’ve shredded the character.
