General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Spies Ava as an Ally Against Sidwell – But How Will He Get Her on His Team?
General Hospital spoilers claim Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) are in a tight spot with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
He has far more information in his grasp to use against them than either are comfortable with, and they’ve been mulling over the best way to handle him for the last week or better.
But Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) visit to Laura has begun to paint a somewhat clearer picture — highlighting Sidwell’s growing closeness to Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), and it could mean Laura is about to kick the ball into Sonny’s court.
Lucy Thrives on Drama
Lucy should actually be the easiest sell here. Certainly, Laura and Lucy do not have the best history together.
Remember when Lucy was married to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom)? Need I say more? Still, while Lucy isn’t in the business of doing favors for Laura, she would always want to protect Kevin from harm.
Furthermore, Sonny has been an investor in Deception, and he’s going to want to protect Lucy and the company’s assets — even if only out of self-interest and care for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).
There’s a pretty good chance Lucy will play this however he asks her to. She’s really not the issue.
GH Spoilers Suggest Sonny and Ava Weren’t Always Enemies
Enter Ava. She and Sonny are cordial to one another. They’re friendly enough for exes who have fought over their child since before she was born.
Both of them have earned their stripes in the others’ eyes. But last year, we saw Sonny and Ava get a little closer when she was staying with him for a time — even kissing at one point, but nothing progressed.
Would Ava even remotely consider working against Sidwell when she’s so enamoured with him, loves the attention he gives her, and loves cashing his checks?
Since his split from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and his post-split smooch with Ava, Sonny has remained single, despite his flirtations with District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor). Could it be time to reignite the spark between him and Ava as a means of getting her to do his bidding?
There’s More Than One Kind of Currency
I truly don’t see Sonny stooping so low as to entice Ava romantically to get her to do what he wants. Still, she’s a strong woman with her own head on her shoulders.
She isn’t easily led. He’ll have to approach her on terms that make her ears perk up — and forsaking custody of Avery in some manner may be the only form of currency she’s willing to entertain.
