General Hospital Spoilers: Ric Lansing Returns — and Not Everyone Will Be Happy About It
General Hospital Spoilers gush Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) is coming back to Port Charles! While a lot of fans are excited, some are lamenting his return and just know it’s going to bring about more torture for the whole family because Ric hardly gets along with all of his relatives.
Ahem, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is certain not to greet his brother with a smile. While Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) might be grateful for the help as her daughters are going through one of the worst experiences of their lives, there is plenty of animosity to be had around Ric that will complicate Alexis being able to just enjoy having his helping hand around.
So, just who might we see balk at Ric’s pit stop in Port Chuck?
General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny and Jason Won’t Be Kind
Sonny and Ric have never had a good relationship. Even when Alexis and Ric fell into bed together and tried to form a makeshift family, it wasn’t kosher with Sonny — who already shared custody of Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) with Alexis after a one-night stand made them co-parents.
Ric’s relationship with Alexis was far more serious, but Sonny still never respected his long-lost brother. The feeling is mutual because Ric grew up believing Sonny pushed their mother down the stairs when she was pregnant with Ric, out of jealousy over the new child.
When their mom later abandoned Ric and his dad and only took Sonny with her, it set the stage for Ric to loathe and resent Sonny for the rest of his life. Of course, he and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have had their battles over the years, too. So it’s unlikely that either of these two will welcome Ric back to town without conflict.
GH Spoilers Squeal Alexis Needs a Break
Alexis may be happy to see that Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) has her dad in her corner as she grapples with the loss of her child, but that doesn’t mean Alexis has forgotten how everything went down between her and Ric in the past.
Likewise, he hasn’t exactly been around for his little girl until now. Why show up here during the most painful experience of her life? Will he bring drama with him that only messes things up more?
Alexis is certain to have those concerns, but she’ll be so busy with Molly and Kristina that it’s unlikely she’ll have much time to focus on Ric — unless he forces her to.
General Hospital Spoilers — Elizabeth Has Come a Long Way
We definitely can’t forget about Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Her marriage to Ric was one-of-a-kind. It didn’t take long for Ric’s obsession with Sonny to drive Elizabeth to divorce him. But they weren’t over yet at that point.
Ric tried to kill Elizabeth at one point, and he paid off a doctor to tell her she couldn’t have children while he was drugging her without her consent or knowledge — giving her birth control so she wouldn’t get pregnant, which ultimately ended up causing her to have an embolism.
To say Elizabeth doesn’t trust Ric would be an understatement, but he holds true that she genuinely meant so much to him. What will it be like for these two to bump into each other now? We can’t wait to find out.
