General Hospital spoilers tease that although they may no longer be husband and wife, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) still have a strong bond, especially because they remain co-parents, That’s why Sonny is so invested in finding out who reported Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Matheson) to the SEC for Insider Trading. And while Carly is actually guilty, she didn’t realize she was doing anything wrong at the time! However, Carly could face jail time so Sonny will make it his business to find out who ratted her out.
General Hospital Spoilers – Drew Cain and Michael Corinthos planned to merge ELQ with Aurora Media!
Even though she didn’t realize she was doing anything illegal Carly and Drew Cain became good friends last year around the time Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Drew had been planning to merge ELQ with Drew’s company, Aurora Media. Carly found out about the plan and she invested heavily In Aurora without telling either Drew or Michael, which is illegal because she had knowledge of a possible merger that the general public did not.
Drew and Carly had both asked Carly to stay out of it but she thought she was helping as well as making a good bit of money. Ironically, when Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) blocked the merger from taking place, Aurora’s stock tanked and Carly lost a large amount of money and her stake in the Metro Court. She also started a relationship with Drew around the same time.
GH Spoilers – Carly Spencer kept her romance with Drew Cain secret!
Because they didn’t want the SEC to suspect Carly knew about the merger, Carly and Drew have had to keep their romance a secret once Drew informed her that Ned had already threated to call the SEC himself. If their romance became public knowledge, Carly’s investment in Aurora would certainly be suspicious to the SEC.
They managed to keep their romance a secret for awhile, but several Port Charles resident’s figured things out pretty quickly, including Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). As viewers know, Carly takes every opportunity she can to be more than a little unpleasant to Nina. Once Nine realized she had information that could hurt Carly for once, she impulsively arranged for the SEC to discover Carly and Drew’s romance, which had led them to the insider trading investigation.
General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves’ actions could cost her Sonny Corinthos!
Nina tends to lash out at Carly when she feels Carly has said or done something that Nina is hurt by This was the reason Carly hates Nina so much in the first place. Nina discovered that Sonny was alive a couple years ago but had amnesia. But instead of telling Carly or anyone else, Nina kept quiet for months and romanced Sonny. She tried to tell Carly first but changed her mind after a particular nasty phone conversation.
Sonny eventually remembered his identity, but he had fallen for Nina by then and they had an affair. Similarly, she contacted the SEC after a particularly nasty altercation between them. At first, Nina justified her action because Carly is actually guilty. But eventually, she realized the implications and that Carly could face prison time. Nina guilt is easy to read and she will realize that she will have to tell Sonny what she did before he discovers it himself. And while it may not end their relationship, it may cause Sonny to rethink his engagement plans.

I can see a scene coming similar to when Sonny went ballistic on Brenda when he learned she was wearing a wire. Nina’s fear will finally get to her and want Sonny to find out what she did before he finds out another way. I can see him now EXPLODING (just like he did on Brenda) and after he verbally has his say, physically dragging her to the door and throwing her out of his house AND his life. Carly and Sonny will eventually reunite (yeah!!).
In this day and age the “dragging” and “throwing” may be toned down but, regardless, it’s not going to be pretty. For Nina that is.
