Lindstrom Is Having Problems Getting Time To Play Kevin
With Lindstrom now taking on the role of Joey Armstrong in Beyond the Gates, he has encountered challenges in balancing his schedule with General Hospital.
The filming for BTG takes place in Atlanta, which has kept Lindstrom quite occupied, providing valid reasons for Kevin’s prolonged absence from the canvas.
While Lindstrom has the flexibility to work on both series since he is not bound by a contract, finding the time to reprise his role as Kevin has proven to be quite a challenge.
Nevertheless, it’s understandable why Lindstrom eagerly accepted the opportunity to transition from General Hospital to Beyond the Gates, as the latter offers him significantly more engaging material to work with. In a recent conversation with TV Insider, Lindstrom elaborated on this very point.
Jon’s Airtime As Kevin Shrunk Down To Maybe A Scene A Month
“In all fairness to me, the situation had dwindled down to merely one or two shows each month, which meant that Kevin had been relatively inactive for quite some time,” Lindstrom remarked. “I haven’t witnessed him having a truly active storyline since the days of Port Charles, unless of course, Ryan Chamberlain, Kevin’s twin, was involved, so it was pretty much a no-brainer decision.”
It’s evident that Beyond the Gates has become Jon Lindstrom’s main focus now, which is quite reasonable considering he’s receiving more substantial material there.
General Hospital has finally managed to compile several episodes over a few days, prompting Lindstrom to make the journey and film Kevin’s latest return. However, it’s clear that this isn’t something Lindstrom can do on a regular basis.
Might Kevin Wind Up Killed Off?
We might be facing yet another year-long hiatus where Kevin is off attending conferences and receiving voicemails off-screen. At some point, it could be more beneficial to send Kevin off with a grand finale and provide him with a fitting exit storyline.
In fact, the show may have just laid the groundwork for that now that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has issued a threat to Kevin’s life.
This would undoubtedly elevate the stakes of this thrilling plot if Sidwell were to target Kevin with deadly consequences.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) pleaded with Kevin not to provoke Sidwell again, but he might not heed her warning and could end up facing dire repercussions.
