General Hospital spoilers reveal Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) doesn’t trust Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Hearing him say so to his aunt, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), came as no surprise to Esme, but it still stung.
She trusts Spencer more than she used to, and she can sense that the feelings she has developed for him are a bit more than just those she would share for extended family — not that she’s got any.

Esme is about to find herself poised to act as a damsel in distress when Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) rears his head and lets everyone know he’s alive.
With the threat that he could come looking for Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) anytime, she’s going to score a lot more face time with Spencer than he was planning on.
Fans keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and Esme to reveal that scheming side of herself we all know is there, but rumor has it she’s not pretending. Esme actually wants to be a good girl, and she wants to be good for Spencer. Does she have a shot?
General Hospital Spoilers — Nikolas Gives Esme a Leg Up
Nikolas is a man on a mission to keep what’s his. Hiding out for the last six months hasn’t done Nik many favors. Now, guidelines set forth long ago within the Cassadine family are threatening to rip Nik’s fortune away from his allegedly dead hands. The only way to maintain control of the Cassadine loot is for him to out himself as alive and well.
While he’s not planning to get himself captured by the authorities or even see his family face to face, he does have plans to make sure the world — and the family — know he’s not six feet under.
That’s going to give Spencer more than enough concern about his relationship with Ace. Will Esme see things from Spencer’s point of view? Might they rely on one another to ensure they both stay in Ace’s life should Nikolas come back to town?
GH Spoilers Suggest Spencer Likes Esme More Than He Lets On
Weeks ago, we saw Spencer relay to Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) that Esme wasn’t all that bad. She wasn’t stunned by his confession, given how comfortable he was with Esme’s embrace of him that day she walked in on them at the hospital after their parenting class.
It was clear then that Spencer and Esme had bonded — even if just over Ace. But their shared distaste for Nikolas could serve to further unite them, and the fear of losing Ace to Spencer’s father might prove to be a stronger tie that binds than his feelings for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) — the one thing that is ultimately in their way.
General Hospital Spoilers — Esme Does the Right Thing
Esme might not mind leaning on Spencer and spending so much extra time with him. It’s all for Ace, of course — or so she tells herself. But while our past experience with Esme leads us to suspect she’s using her son to stay close to his big brother, word on the street is she doesn’t actually want to win Spencer by default.
Esme is in this for the long haul, and she wants Spencer to come around to her on his own time because that’s where he wants to be. Is Trina really going to lose her beau to his criminal and borderline insane ex? It’s starting to look that way. Sorry, Sprina fans!
