General Hospital Spoilers: Drew’s Olive Branch to Nina Looks a Lot Like Revenge Against Carly
General Hospital Spoilers say Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) surprised all of us — and Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) — when he showed up at The Invader looking to give her back the role of Editor-in-Chief at Crimson.
Nina found it hard not to gloat, and equally difficult not to presume Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was the dumper and this situation, and Drew the dumpee.
While he took no time to correct her, he did play hard ball with her baby Crimson, despite it being him who was really there asking for her help.
Quick to turn the tables and maintain the upper hand, Drew walked away having gotten what he wanted —- as did Nina — but what about Carly?
General Hospital Spoilers — Drew Drives a Hard Bargain
It was Drew’s idea in the first place to oust Nina from Crimson and replace her with Carly. That being said, Carly wasn’t kicking and screaming or trying to stop Drew from making that move.
She relished the opportunity to take the last thing that really mattered to Nina away from her. However, Carly never really wanted that job.
When Drew presented the offer to Nina to come back to Crimson, he wasn’t about to get down on his knees and beg. He was ready to walk with or without Nina, and it was her desperation that ensured he didn’t leave that office without reinstating her at the fashion rag.
GH Spoilers Suggest He Could’ve Just Folded
Let’s be honest. This magazine meant nothing to Drew and still doesn’t. He wanted it only as leverage over Nina in his game of revenge. But it’s possible the focus of his revenge is shifting to Varly now — and perhaps Jason, too.
Otherwise, he could’ve let the magazine go up in flames and shutter it — breaking Nina’s heart along the way as though it was all for nothing.
Instead, he’s keeping it alive — and not because he cares about the magazine, and certainly not because he cares about Nina. But has he become so bitter toward Carly that he’d rather exact pain in her direction now?
General Hospital Spoilers — What’s Love Got to Do With It?
Drew told Carly he loved her and enjoyed every minute of his time with her. He wanted to end things before they got too messy now that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was back in the mix.
But Drew’s pursuit of the single life looks a lot more like bitterness and regret. Not regret for dumping Carly, mind you, but perhaps regret for ever getting involved with her in the first place.
Rumor has it Drew won’t find satisfaction in walking away from Carly, knowing he just opened the door for his brother to move in on what was his territory.
Instead, he’ll want Carly to feel every bit of pain he is. Could that be the real reason Drew wants to hand Crimson back to Nina? Just to stick it to Carly and twist the knife? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
