General Hospital Spoilers: Cody Tells Dante the Truth — “Mac is My Dad”

General Hospital Spoilers suggest Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is about to have a serious heart-to-heart with his old pal, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and it could go left pretty quickly if they don’t see eye to eye. Cody has been feeling down on his luck lately, and he can’t help but regret the choice he made to lie about the results of the paternity test he took with Mac Scorpio (John J. York).

He and Mac continue to hang out and remain friends, but it’s hard for Cody to feign friendship when he knows they are father and son and longs for Mac to know, too. When Cody comes clean with Dante about what he’s done, his friend’s response won’t be what he expected.

Dante won’t hesitate to tell Cody what to do; he never does. When he urges Cody to tell Mac the truth as soon as possible, Cody is going to have a good laugh at Dante’s expense. Of course, that chuckle will go right over Dante’s head, because he just doesn’t see himself the way that Cody does. Dante is every bit as much of a liar as Cody is, but he seems to ignore that fact in favor of moving on with his life. So why can’t Cody do the same?

When Dante seems rather confused by what Cody finds to be so ironically humorous, he’s going to point out the painful truth with glee. Dante is lying to everyone he loves about who he really is — at least that’s how Cody sees it. Dante may not consider one mistake in his past to be the deciding factor about who he is, but he’s obviously withheld the truth all of these years because he knows it would upend his life and change others’ impressions of him. So, it must have a pretty big impact. If Dante thinks Cody should be honest, why don’t the same rules apply to him in his relationship with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)?

Cody isn’t going to feel so hot about telling Dante the truth. When Cody doesn’t agree with Dante’s approach to handling the situation with honesty, Cody is going to be left feeling like Dante might circumvent him and tell Mac the truth anyway. That’s the last thing Cody needs. If Dante threatens to tell Mac soon if Cody doesn’t, Cody could turn around and leverage the same threat against Dante.
