In February, Laura had to debunk a rumor about Carly. If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Laura Wright over the years, it’s that she loves to engage with her fans on social media. Seeing how Carly was distancing herself from Sonny now that he’s spending more time with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) a lot of people couldn’t help but wonder if this means she’ll be taking a much-needed break from the canvas. According to Laura, that’s not the case at all.

When one fan asked Laura if she’s taking a break from General Hospital, she responded with, “Nope. People love to start rumors.”

General Hospital Spoilers: What’s Next For Carly?

In November, Laura admitted that her character has finally realized that her world doesn’t need to revolve around everything that Sonny does. She said, “When I first started, Carly wanted Sonny back and her family together with him, no matter what, at all costs. It didn’t happen immediately — she fell in love with Jax for five or six years — and when she finally got back together with Sonny, it was like, ‘Right, this is what it should be.’”

“There were family and life experiences that helped her evolve,” she continued. “They buried their son together and she was by Sonny’s side when his father took his last breath. I think life hands you situations and circumstances, especially once you have children, that force you to show up differently every day.”

While speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Laura Wright, who has been playing Carly for years, says that this is going to be a time for growth for her character. She tells the publication, “When she goes home, you’ll see a new side to her. We’ll see for how long! She still is who she is. She’s still a scrapper, she still won’t take stuff from anyone, and she is still a mama bear, protective of her family.”

“But this is something that was like divine intervention,” she continued. “She had no intention whatsoever of ending up in Jacksonville, but she did. This all fell into her lap, and there are no accidents.”

Neither one will come out and say it to the other one, but that doesn’t make it any less the truth. For Spencer’s part, he loves Trina, and this is all about capturing the Hook, who he believes is Esmé, and bringing her to justice. […]

  2. […] Carly’s life has been crumbling to pieces so of course, it would only make sense for her superhero of a best friend to come back home and rescue her, right? That is if he’s even alive. Viewers are sure hoping he is as they’ve missed seeing Jason Morgan on the canvas ever since his portrayer Steve Burton left the show back in November. […]

  3. […] Carly has a favorite saying she applies to others in a derogatory manner, but doesn’t apply to herself-“a lying liar who lies”. Willow’s life has been at stake as she’s been trying to find her birth family, but Carly made the decision she shouldn’t know Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is her birth mother. Willow has needed a lifesaving bone marrow transplant because she has leukemia, and a close relative like a father or mother is best. […]
