Carly called Joss out for being in the WSB and concealing it from her. Joss fired back with demands of respect for privacy because she’s an adult who can make her own decisions about where she works. Valentin? He was along for the ride, listening nearby.
We thought he might have bolted for the nearest exit, but it seems he was concerned about Carly and wanted to check on her first. Did everyone else catch the way they looked at each other after Joss left? Need I say more?
The Enemy of My Enemy Is Thy Friend
Carly knew what she was doing when she traveled all the way to Switzerland to see Valentin. She knew he was the only person who hated Jack as much as she did.
She was certain he could help her climb inside the WSB webs in his mind and plot the best way to destroy him.
They’ve been close to figuring that out, but Joss discovering Valentin’s presence in Carly’s attic threw them off track. Now, she’ll have to find somewhere else to hide the guy, and that may include having to keep her distance from him too.
That’s Asking Too Much
My Fair Lady’s Professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) sang it best: “I’ve grown accustomed to her face.” That’s where Valentin and Carly are sitting at this moment. They were in this foxhole together, and somehow, they learned to see another side to one another that they’ve never allowed room for before. Now, they can’t unsee it, or unfeel it. The look on Carly’s face said it all when she turned to Valentin, who was clearly offering moral support and comfort, knowing she was going to need it. Somehow, GH replaced Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) with Valentin in Carly’s corner right now, and I’m digging it.
The Long Goodbye
Joss has set the clock. Carly gets 24 hours to cut Valentin loose before she’ll call the cops on her own mother. Sure, she might have the grace to stage that in a way that looks like he’d been hiding out without Carly’s knowledge.
Moreover, Valentin would likely cover for Carly and say she never knew he was there. She’s used to being protected that way and would probably recognize the favor as something in the realm of love.
But right now, they’ve got limited time to figure out where he’s going, and how they’re going to survive — separated. The look on Carly’s face read like I don’t want you to go, and it’s feeling like he’s going to reciprocate.
Is this the point where Valentin and Carly become more than just co-conspirators? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers, right here, every day.
