General Hospital Spoilers: Are Nina’s Feelings for Sonny Rooted in Love for Him — or Hatred for Carly?

General Hospital spoilers tease Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) hasn’t really come up for air since she reunited with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). She spent a lot of time debating whether she was longing for “Mike” or Sonny after she first came back from Nixon Falls, but it was an impossible question to answer because she barely knew Sonny. Now that they’ve settled into a comfortable relationship with one another, Nina might start questioning whether it’s really Sonny that is keeping her interested or her love for the drama that fighting for their relationship brings.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nina and Sonny Try Too Hard

It seems as though every time Nina and Sonny’s relationship is smooth sailing and no one is giving them a hard time, Nina goes looking for trouble. She just can’t find happiness in the small things the way Sonny has. When Sonny spent nearly a year in Nixon Falls as Mike, it changed him. He found that he wanted less turmoil and more peace in his life. Nina thought she wanted the same, but she’s so malcontent when there isn’t a reason for her to put up her dukes in defense of her love for her man. Is this relationship really worth all that Nina is throwing into it?

GH Spoilers Indicate Nina Loved Mike

Nina fell hard for Mike after she fled Port Charles with a broken heart. He was the soft place she needed to land at the time, and it didn’t hurt that she felt like she was sticking it to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), too, by keeping Sonny from her and the rest of his family. Nina was bitter toward Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) as well for the way they treated her daughter, Nelle Benson-Jerome (Chloe Lanier), and wanted to keep Nina out of Wiley Corinthos’ (Viron Weaver) life.

Her romance with Mike might have been genuine, but Nina still found an added benefit in it the entire time knowing she was getting her revenge. Now that everyone has moved on from what she did, is Nina finding that a relationship with Sonny is far less exciting if everyone is allowing her to have it?

General Hospital Spoilers — But She Hates Carly More

Nina might have developed a genuine interest in Sonny when he thought he was Mike, but the longer this relationship goes on, the more hooked she seems on just making sure she can keep Sonny. Is she really afraid of losing him, or is she afraid of losing him to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)?

As Sonny starts to catch onto Nina’s anxiety and realizes she’s more committed to sticking it to Carly than sticking it out with him, he just might teach her a lesson in leaving. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers as we continue to dish them out all day long.

  • Nina's interest in Sonny is more to stick it to Carly than love for Sonny. Nina loved her relationship with Mike and now that Sonny is almost the Sonny once known and loved, she can't deal with his actions both business and personal. Nina is a very insecure individual and has to be the center of attraction or her insecurities will raise their ugly heads. Not even sure that her relationships with Jax and Val would have lasted either.
