General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is dealing with some mixed emotions after returning from Switzerland with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) dead instead of facing justice, but also with a renewed vigor not to let herself be fooled by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) like she was by Peter, in future episodes of General Hospital!
General Hospital Spoilers –Anna Devane Deals With Her Mixed Grief And Relief
General Hospital viewers will recall that Anna shed some tears as she closed Peter’s eyes when he died – it got real between the aunt and nephew as he realized she didn’t call an ambulance. General Hospital viewers will remember that when Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) checked Peter’s pulse he was already clinging to life by the barest thread, and the blow to the back of his neck by the tire iron Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) may have severed his spinal cord.
Peter had cried to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) that he couldn’t feel his legs, and he didn’t seem to be able to move, or undoubtedly he would have; and Anna sent Maxie and Felicia back with Dante and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Anna had told the others she was calling an ambulance but Peter was so close to death it likely would not have made any difference if she had, although she is dealing with mixed grief and relief, and a little bit of guilt mixed in over his death.
General Hospital Spoilers – Anna Devane Wonders If Things Could Have Been Different For Peter August
General Hospital viewers see Anna go through the same mixed emotions regarding Peter in his death as got her into trouble trying to see good in him and encourage it in life. Even though it was Felicia who dealt the blow that ultimately was fatal for Peter, in a way Anna feels that they are both responsible for his death – Anna willingly chose not to call an ambulance.
General Hospital viewers know that even though Peter was never parented, never knew real love as a child, and other than Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) checking in on him who was really there for young Peter? That is part of Anna’s guilt as his aunt, although by the time he came to Port Charles he was too far gone and nothing could have been done to change him – and he didn’t have the wherewithal to effect any true change in himself!
General Hospital Spoilers – Anna Devane Is Determined To Focus On Victor Cassadine And The Threat He Poses – And Teams Up With Laura Collins
General Hospital viewers will remember Anna knows Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and doesn’t trust him from years ago, and Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) shares her opinion that even though Victor got an immunity deal from the WSB, that basically means nothing concerning anything going forward! General Hospital viewers will see Anna express great concern about Victor’s still being involved in criminal activity, although he claims he is just there to get his family united, all of whom are in Port Charles! She isn’t sure how involved he was with Peter but she does think that they were working together in the past and perhaps more recently since Victor has been in Port Charles.
Laura agrees that Victor is still trouble, and trouble that must be dealt with to keep Port Charles and in particular her son and grandson safe and free from his influence! Anna and Laura will team up and Anna determines to take Victor seriously and not make mistakes like she did with Peter, and treat him like the threat he really is!
