General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Valentin Mourns The Loss Of A Man He Hated — Will Anna Understand?

General Hospital: Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been through a horrific situation, and bouncing back isn’t going to come as naturally for him as it has in the past. To be frank, his father tried to kill him. That might happen pretty frequently in Port Charles, but it doesn’t happen everyday to Valentin. It was just a year and a half ago that Valentin even learned Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was his dear old dad. He didn’t have particularly high hopes for their relationship, but he gave it a shot making it work out. If Victor has met Valentin at another time in his life — prior to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) helping him mend his ways — Victor’s sinister plan for them to conquer the world together might have panned out differently. Instead, the new and improved — and softer — version of Valentin is going to reluctantly grieve the loss of his father, and it will leave Anna rather bewildered.

General Hospital Spoilers — Victor Cassadine Is Gone But Not Forgotten

Picture this: Victor, once a powerful and successful individual, was shrunken down to a mere shadow of his former self just before his death. The strong and powerful paragon of the Cassadine family has fallen into disgrace, and although Valentin was working dutifully for months to promulgate his father’s undoing, he didn’t expect to feel the loss he will be now in the wake of his dad’s death. Sure, the guy was a monster, but Valentin came from him. What does that say about Valentin? Can he ever stray far enough from his roots to be a good enough man for Anna?

General Hospital Updates – Victor Cassadine Isn’t The Only Loss

Of course, Valentin’s concerns about his identity are compounded by the recollection of his mother, Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers). Appearing to him as a hallucination when he was suffering in isolation from the symptoms created by the pathogen Valenin and Mikko Cassadine (John Colicos) had developed some forty years prior, Valentin was reminded of the maternal instinct that was never imparted upon him. Perhaps that’s why he struggled so much to find a quality example of it for his own daughter. Regardless, it’s going to hit Valentin differently as he starts to think about why his brain would go there — to Helena — of all places when he was in a weak space.

Anna Devane Struggles To Comfort Valentin

By forcing Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) to inject the pathogen into Valentin’s body, Victor unleashed a terrifying chain of events. Death loomed ever closer for Valentin, and the antidote seemed to have arrived just in time. But just because Valentin survived the event doesn’t mean she’s thriving in the aftermath. What he is left with now will be questions — more than he’s ever had about his parents, and himself. Anna will struggle to wrap her head around how he could possibly grieve the loss of such horrible people — parents or not. Is this going to create a rift for the saccharine-sweet couple? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to find out.

Her brother Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) remembers that part of Jason much better than Josslyn, around ten years younger, ever would. Michael actually planted Dex as a potential replacement for the late Jason, who’d been Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) enforcer. […]
