General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that actor Steve Burton has a lot of things to say about his character’s love life, fan’s reactions to his storylines and former love interests, and more.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor dished on Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright), a marriage of convenience. Burton said that his current storyline involving getting married to Carly for business purposes allows him and Wright to try something new. They’ve been on the show for so long and they’re both happy and excited because they get to explore new things and do new scenes with other people.

General Hospital Spoilers – GH’s Risky Move To Mix Things Up

Burton wants Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to come home. But viewers have already gotten used to things that they already know how characters will react. The actor believes that General Hospital has done a good job in mixing things up. He understands that most people don’t like change. But when something new happens, it makes the story more interesting and viewers can look forward to more surprises.

General Hospital Updates – Explaining Jason’s Engagement To His Sons

The actor made it clear that even though his character doesn’t like to lie, he has to at some point. It’s hard for Jason, and for him as an actor so he’ll just give a general explanation that he has to marry Carly because it’s what’s best for everybody.

Fans are wondering why Jason can’t marry Carly and sneak around with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). For Burton, Jason is doing things by the book. He’s involved in a power struggle where there’s violence and he can’t bring himself to have a mistress. His main focus now is to show a united front and that’s why he’s marrying Carly and ending his relationship with Britt.

Fans Attack Kelly Monaco And Kelly Thiebaud

Burton understands some fans’ sentiments that they would rather see Jason be with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) than Britt or Carly. He, too, has watched shows before and got upset. But he doesn’t approve of fans attacking Monaco and Thiebaud.

He has nothing but respect for Monaco, whom he has worked with every day for about eight years. He’s also having a great time working with Thiebaud. He’s not on social media that much but he saw some nasty comments about his co-stars. Burton says he can take it when people hate him but he gets upset when fans do that to the ladies.
