General Hospital Comings And Goings: Major Role RECAST, Taggert Finally Appears

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of May 8 reveal that a major casting shakeup on the ABC sudser was announced last week. It involves a character fans have watched grow up on screen, and the legacy character will now be played by another daytime.

Also, fans will finally get the answer to just where in the world a key father has been while his daughter was off fighting against the evils of the world!

This week fans will see Real Andrews as Marcus Taggert. The audience has been wondering where this hyperreactive parent has been while his daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is missing and in grave danger.

Look for him to share scenes with Trina’s mom Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).

General Hospital spoilers the week of May 8: Where Was Taggert?

It may be splitting hairs, but hot under the collar fans wanted Marcus to be there when his daughter was rescued from the clutches of evildoer Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaugnessy). Or at the very least, be onscreen and present wringing his hands and tearing up the PCPD.

Instead it was her presumed other father, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) who went off to Greenland to rescue her. It makes sense that Curtis be involved and he will probably now learn that he is indeed her biological father. But, to ignore Marcus completely in all of the dramarama didn’t sit well with scores of GH fans. Duly noted.

General Hospital spoilers the week of May 8: Legacy Character Recast

Last week the show made huge waves with the announcement that Lexi Ainsworth is out as legacy character Kristina Corinthos-Davis.

Taking her place will be Days of our Lives alum Kate Mansi (Abigail DiMera). Ainsworth portrayed the turbulent daughter of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) from 2009 to 2011. From 2012 to 2013 Lindsey Morgan was in the role and Ainsworth returned in 2015 with sporadic performances.
