General Hospital spoilers: The week of May 30, 2022 Brings news of a Recast
The character of Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) is about to get a new face. But it is only temporary! It’s been reported that due to scheduling unavailability, Wactor has stepped aside for a temp time being. In his place will be an actor with daytime experience, Brad Schmidt. Schmidt’s credits include Yellowstone and The Chosen. He was previously on Guiding Light as Todd and on As the World Turns as Anthony.

Now we turn to a more permanent departure. Chris Van Etten has left the sudser as peripatetic Chet Driscoll, just when it looked like he might be staying awhile.
According to Soap Opera Digest, the character’s story was cut short due to the actor leaving California. Will the role be recast as happens all the time on soaps? There has been no indication of what the soap might do next. Chet was a PTSD suffering former military member and the brother of snoopy Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken).

Van Etten made his debut in 2017 and Dorken debuted in 2016. This time around Chet was all set to get involved with doctor Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) who debuted in 2018. Terry is a friend of Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) who knew her before Terry transitioned.
In July 2018, Terry and Elizabeth were reunited and revealed she’s going to be working at GH. She started in August and immediacy became involved in Oscar Nero’s brain tumor plot. Last June Terry was made Head of Oncology and is now co-Chief of Staff along with Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
On May 9, Chet and Terry had a date and Terry said she was afraid to tell Chet she is a trans woman. Their conversation later revealed that Amy is Chet’s sister. For now it looks like any potential story will involve the animosity between Amy and Terry and the fallout at GH.
