General Hospital star Josh Swickard (Detective Harrison Chase) shared a personal post this weekend that seemed extraordinary and very sweet. Read on for more about it.
The Lovely Post
On Sunday night on Instagram, Josh shared a photo of a family member. Of course, ABC fans know that he and his wife, Lauren, are parents to Savannah (4) and Arthur (2). He’s also a son to his own dad, Bob Swickard (a pastor) and Gina Swickard who does voice coaching.
Well, the post wasn’t about any of them. Instead, he shared about his grandfather. You might recall that during the COVID years, he talked about Facetiming him because they shared Bible study together. Well, the real-life Detective Harrison Chase let his GH fans know that his grandpa is now 101 years old!
A Sweet Caption
In his caption, the close bond between the two men was very evident. Josh wrote:
I have no words for the love I have for this man. Grateful he made the trip out west for Thanksgiving. Our conversations were fun, long, challenging, and filled with the Spirit. Also… there’s a surprise for you all coming soon! He’s finishing his 101st year full of joy and as grateful as ever. (In this photo he was trying one of our avocados for the first time).
Many people loved that Josh Swickard still has a grandfather to bond with. 101 is a very advanced age, after all.

If Josh Swickard manages to follow his grandfather in terms of longevity, then fans of General Hospital fans can hope to see the detective on the daytime drama for some years to come. Never mind Christmas movies.
Of course, most people know him from those, and from shows like School of Rock, K.C. Undercover and Liv and Maddie.
