Why Is General Hospital’s Carly Now Part Of The ELQ Story?

General Hospital spoilers reveal the battle for ELQ heating up with Drew and Michael finding an unlikely ally and all-around buttinsky on their side.

General Hospital Spoilers: Too Much Carly To Go Around

Somehow Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) seems to pop up in every story. She’s now keeping a secret about Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) daughter for a second time and doesn’t seem to see this is how she got herself in her mess the first time. She was understandably after Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) after what she did to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but why on Earth is she involved with the latest battle for ELQ story.

Yes, her dumba** son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), is involved, but Michael has been a part of ELQ for years and Carly never jumped in. Why would she suddenly decide to now? Well, because without Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) she is a lost character who doesn’t have anything to do.

So, being her usual delusional self, she declared that she is an honorary Q and it’s perfectly within her rights to be involved with the ELQ mess. Someone should tell Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) all about this because she’d be surprised this woman is an honorary member of her family considering what she did to Monica‘s son, AJ Quartermaine.

Carly And Drew’s Friendship Retconned

Carly is also using her deep and abiding friendship with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) as another excuse to throw herself head first into Q problems, but since this is recent GH history, most people don’t remember a deep and abiding friendship. Instead, they remember a woman who thought a man was the alleged love of her life named Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). When she learned he wasn’t Jason, she dropped Drew like a hot potato and antagonized him by trying to break him and Sam up rather than being his true friend.

Laura Wright is an Emmy-winning actress who can stand on her own two feet in her own storyline and doesn’t need other characters and other storylines she has no business being involved in propping her up. Or does she if she doesn’t have Jason, Jax (Ingo Rademacher), or Sonny? Perhaps GH would be best to get Carly her own story and make her into her own person instead of constantly inserting her into everyone else’s plotlines. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if that ever happens.

Elizabeth Rose: Elizabeth Rose has spent most of her long adult life writing about soaps off and on. She grew up on long-departed soaps Another World, Santa Barbara, All My Children, One Life to Live, and Guiding Light. Since college she has been a General Hospital lover and considers herself to be an encyclopedia of everything daytime.

  • bring back Ingo Rademahers and Steve Burton !!!!! Shame Shame on firing them!!!!! Get some new writers . we need writers like when Luck and Laura were in the story > I have been watching GH since the very beginning of the show! !!!!!! Too much little stories gets a little boring!!!!!

  • Great another storyline to fast-forward through. Please, find something else for Carly to do. I am tired of her butting into everything. She has no idea how to butt out of other people's business.
