GH Steve Burton & Michelle Get A Checkup – She Has Surgery

General Hospital (GH) star Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) from the ABC daytime soap checked out clean and clear with a medical issue, but his wife, Michelle Lundstrom didn’t. So, she talked about how “scared” she felt, and how everyone can do things that “they don’t want to.”
A Medical Checkup
On Instagram this Wednesday, Michelle told her fans that she spoke to Steve and told him to go along for a skin checkup. Well, off they went, but he checked out just fine. However, she didn’t. The popular foodie said that she ended up leaving “with three biopsies.”

Anyway, she had to go back, but put it off until “after the holidays.” But eventually, she had no option but to go back and have a moderate Nevus removed. Fortunately, it wasn’t cancerous, but it had to come out.
In her caption, Michelle told fans of her and Steve Burton:
Today was hard. I was scared, emotional, and honestly wanted to keep putting it off. But I closed my eyes, smiled through the fear, prayed, and got it done. I was proud of myself.
If you need a reminder: you can do hard things, even when you don’t want to. Especially then.
Michelle hoped that other people would also face up to the difficult things and just get “proactive.” Scared and being worked on in the OR isn’t fun. But, now, she has some peace of mind. So, she reminded GH fans, “Make sure to be proactive and get your skin check done annually!”
Sweetly, she explained about how nervous she felt. However, kind medical professionals let Steve Burton sit at the door of the OR while she underwent the procedure. In fact, she wished they could have just cut the moderate Nevus out in the doctor’s room.
What is A Moderate Nevus?
Well, Michelle Lundstrom also told General Hospital fans that “severe” or “moderate nevus” need to be taken out “with a scalpel” as well as “the surrounding tissue” to prevent it from becoming cancerous.
Dermatology Physicians of Connecticut’s website notes that “a dysplastic nevus is a mole that exists in the spectrum between a benign mole and melanoma. A mildly dysplastic nevus is closer on that spectrum to a benign mole, whereas a severely dysplastic nevus is closer to a melanoma.”
ABC Fans React
Plenty of people reacted in the comments section. One GH fan wrote, “So glad that you got them removed and everything is ok, hope you heal quickly.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- What a great reminder. Thank God you are OK. Sending you lots of love. I’ve been there with a biopsy for a breast lump. Thankfully benign but the scariest thing.
- My God. That is so scary. I am so so glad you are ok. I’m sorry you went through this but so glad you caught it.
- Glad it wasn’t cancerous . I needed to hear this because I have to have 2 removed.
