Most Insufferable General Hospital Couple of 2021 — Willow and Michael

General Hospital spoilers reveal Michael Corinthos and Willow Tait continuing to make sure that Nina Reeves never sees Wiley while they pretend they are above everyone else in town — and that’s what makes them the soap’s most insufferable characters in 2021.

General Hospital’s Love Story Goes Wrong

When Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was first introduced onto the GH canvas she had spunk. She had just escaped a cult, given a baby up for adoption, and became a school teacher determined to live her own life. We liked her when she fell in love with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), our hearts broke for her when she learned her baby had died, and we tried not to cringe when she married Michael (Chad Duell) just to help him retain custody of Wiley — and then fell for him.

But first Willow had to see if she loved Chase once she learned he did not have an affair with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). She didn’t. She loved Michael and was just about to tell Chase when Peter August (Wes Ramsey) poisoned him and he nearly died. Since Willow thought he was about to die, she married Chase, and then couldn’t bring herself to tell him the truth when he lived and was paralyzed. So, she slept with Michael anyway behind Chase’s back before he finally learned the truth.

GH’s Michael and Willow Love Themselves Way Too Much

Now, Michael and Willow are one big, little happy family with Wiley, but even Willow is realizing that she may not want to marry Michael right away because he has no problem doing rotten things behind her back all in the name of family.

That, of course, has not stopped Michael and Willow from acting like they are holier than thou after learning that Chase fathered Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) baby, which of course he didn’t, but she doesn’t know that. How could Chase sleep with Brook Lynn when he was supposed to still be in love with her? Um, Willow, do you remember the last six months of your life?

There’s also the fact that there is absolutely no chemistry between Chad Duell and Katelyn MacMullen, which definitely makes it a lot more difficult to love this pair — or even like them. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if Michael and Willow ever get over themselves.

  • Elizabeth Rose, your observations about Michael and Willow are spot on! I think both would be better off to go separate ways with different occupations....Willow is better suited to a life as a missionary or perhaps a nun, Michael clearly wants to be a mobster!

  • Personally I can't stand Michael and Willow. Yes, Willow has become self righteous. Looks like the writer's are trying to ruin her character. She is going to be the next Peter but in sickening sweet way.

    • I totally agree with you. I like that Michael is starting to act more like he’s his father’s son. And yes, Willow is self righteous and milk toast. Not sure what the writers are trying to do to the characters on G.H. They’ve turned Sam into something intolerable, And Sonny has become a push-over too. Willow is blah and her apparent insistence that Nina be in Wiley’s life makes no sense. I would never want a woman who can be so deceptive and two faced anywhere near my child or grandchild.
And it’s starting to look like ‘poor’ Nina is going to suffer no consequences or have any repercussions for her lies and deceitfulness while also keeping Sonny away from his family.
The way things are playing out for her it, makes one wonder why we waited so long (far too long), with baited breath for Sonny to return and only for there to be absolutely no punishment or consequences for what Nina did. Not sure how much longer I’ll be watching G.H. at this rate.

  • The initial lie between Chase/Willow - Michael/Sasha caused a snow ball effect. In my opinion, Wiley was the bonding power of Michael/Willow not a love for one another. Willow's obsession with Wiley and grief of losing a child has bonded her with Michael. It's time the ship sailed and allow Willow to get back to a normal life.

  • I find Michael and Willow to be a breath of fresh air and one of the best pairings on #GH right now. I am not the only one that feels that way either. The great thing about that is we are see things through different lenses and to me tjay have amazing chemistry and wish #GH would stop throwing the obstacles every 5 mins no need too! Katelyn and Chad sizzle! #Love #Millow
